Dinan tune or jb stage 1?

If I get the extended bmw warranty the dinan tune will void the engine warranty after the 4 year manufacturers right? So would it be best to get the stage 1 and remove it every time I bring the car in to service? Or should I just get the mppk? Is there a big difference between mppk or stage 1?

It takes 10 minutes to remove the Jb.
It also provides more power than MPPK.
The Jb is a no brainer for a price of $379

The stage1 (JB) is a simple 2 sensor tune which can be done in a few minutes (a little longer the first time). The MPPK is a a safe factory option but it probably puts out 1/2 or even 1/3 the power the JB stage1 does. So really not worth it IMO.

The MPPK in the real-world makes what like 45 hp over stock and 50 lb ft of torque? So you are saying JB stage 1 makes almost 150hp and 150 lb-ft torque over stock?

I'm pretty sure the MPPK doesn't make THAT much more over stock And yes, the JB will give a much larger power increase. However, you do keep the warranty with the MPPK.

OP, it's really up to your priorities. Would you rather sacrifice your warranty for more power or keep it for less power and pay multiple times more? Also, the difference between the Dinan tune and the JB isn't huge either.

As long as you remove the Jb before your dealership visit your warranty will not be voided.

How much more of a power increase does JB stage 1 offer... I can't imagine it being significantly more than MPPK. I could probably find this online somewhere, but seems like asking you is the easier route. Thanks

I love how you capitalize NOT for 45HP as if that number is totally ludicrous, but have no problem claiming that it could make 35HP. edit, doesn't BMW claim 42 hp for Canada cars?

My MPPK dynoed at 290 WHP on a Superflo (304 on a Dynojet). Selfishly using my own car as the example (mech waste gate)....that's roughly 20 hp more than most 335s dyno stock.

91 or 93 octane? 3.5 or 4" turbo outlet?

93 octane and 3.5in outlet (mechanical waste gate).....

Car only had 3000 miles at the time...maybe it's loosened up a tad since then.

I was speaking of the new tune.. From what I hear the old tune included the following: 1 can of gum out into gas tank, a bottle of Prolong into the engine crankcase, and 3 finger snaps over the ECU from the master BMW mechanic.

No, BMW doesn't. My car was advertised as 335 hp and 332 lb/ft of torque. From the dynos I've seen, the car makes around 330 hp (crank) and 350-70 lb/ft of torque(depending on who you ask). JB Stage 1 on an m235i with an aFe intake claims 315 whp and 343 wheel lb/ft of torque.
