I too went for winter wheels/tyres on the new 330d. Struggled without them on my previous 130, compared to my wife's car (which had winter tyres fitted).

Didn't like the standard BMW winter wheel/tyre combo offerings so pick and mixed my own. Went for Pirelli Sottozeros all round (225/45) on these 18s. Had them fitted this weekend so I could get a few hundred miles on the new tyres. Added bonus that they show off the brake upgrade a little better than the 19s!

You can get them as a BMW winter wheel/tyre package - though they're not advertised on the website and in short supply as BMW spec them with Contis, which were out of stock.

Now just looking for some tyre storage bags that'll fit the 19" wheels that I've taken off!

Did you use the nuts from the the 19's or did you get a new set, including locking for the winter tyres?

Nice, think that is what I will do.
I have the same tyres on a set of 18's that I will be putting on today / tomorrow and wanted to get your thoughts on how she rides on them?

Is there a lot of difference between the 19's?

To be honest, don't feel a massive difference (maybe a little better) - but then I'm still in the honeymoon period of loving the ride in this car vs. my old one!

Where do you keep them then?

You do know when they are on you car, they do get exposed to the elements

I hadn't realised that, and was disappointed to learn that BMW don't offer an integrated fluffy pillow deployment option for use when parking

My 19s will be stored at a friend's garage, along with loads of other wheels/tyres. Just trying to minimise the chances of damage when they aren't on the car.

Thanks

Winter wheels are on, was worried about taking off the 19's and putting on 18's but it works if I do say so myself!

Pops: are those the factory tints (sun protection glass) on your car? If so, it looks very dark (darker than E90), or is it just the pic?

Mark, its the sun protection glass, must just be the angle of the sun making it look very dark!

Good choice, I already have my black grilles and black exhaust tips ready to give to the dealer to fit for delivery, whenever that happens...
