[NY435]

Anyone else hoping / expecting to have their car on the Aida? My 435 is sitting in Bremerhaven awaiting a ship and I hope to make the Aida, for a roughly Thanksgiving delivery.

You can count me in on that hope/expectation.

My car finished production on 10/19 and has been at the port since at least 10/23... the 800# still says "at port awaiting shipping, no shipping info available at this time"

Mine just arrived at port two days ago...Not sure where yours is heading for delivery but I need a ship that visits NY, so if its not the Aida, looks like it would be the Topeka on the 13th. I dont want to look any farther out than that, Im using the power of positive thought.

What port are you going to?

And you 100% sure its still at port? Have you asked your CA?

Bc mine finished on 10/18 got to port on 10/21 and got on a boat 10/23-- if you are an east cost port-- thats a long long time to STILL be at port

I know man... I was hoping to get on a boat the same time you were.

I've spoken to my CA, and to a rep at BMWNA, and they both said that according to their systems my car is listed as "at port awaiting shipping, no booking information available."

I am on the East Coast (New England) so there have been a number of opportunities to get on a ship. My one solace is in the fact that when I search W&W for 4 series cars that have been shipped only a handful show up, and all of the already shipped models have VIN #'s lower than mine... though the last ship that went out had a car on it that was only a few digits off... so I'm hoping that bodes well for the next ship as I should be pretty high up the list by now.

Well... W&W's website just updated and lists 8 4 series vehicles as "Received at Terminal"... none of them are mine.

My hopes are beginning to wane... I can't help but wonder if something happened to my vehicle and that's why it's been there for so long.

so your port of entry would be NY or Baltimore is my guess?... if you have been at port since 10/23---its very unlikely you are STILL there---unless something did happen to your car like you said--- have you tried contacting the 800# to see what they say? or your CA?...if your port of entry is Baltimore--then you may be on the Columbia Highway (and the WW site would NOT show this)...otherwise if you are NY entry, you may be on the Aida--you just wont show up on their site... find out from your CA--the latest--or if you have the VIR--let me know what your port of entry says--i still say its unlikely you are at port--my bet is that you're already on a boat or leaving on Aida


FWIW-- BMW told me that "if the car was assigned to a ship, we would know before it leaves port"...well they didnt, as they told me it hasnt been assigned ..but 2 days after the ship left, I was told it was on the Bishu Highway.

Yeah, the port of entry is for sure NY, so one of the WW ships is what it should end up on.

I spoke to a rep on the 800# on Friday and the only info they had was that it was at the port awaiting shipping w/ no shipping info available.

My CA also told me the same info when I spoke to him last week. At the port, no shipping info.

Where do you see how many 435s, and how do you that it's not yours? How can I see if one is mine?

You can look it up if you have your VIN #

The beginning of it will be the same, the end will be unique... if you just take the last 7 digits of the VIN and go to a BMW VIN decoder it'll show you all the specifics of that particular build... So rather than search my specific VIN, I left off the last 5 digits to do a general "4 series being shipped" search.

Here's a screen shot of the query... if you go to http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html and type in any of those VIN #'s you'll see that they are all 4 series destined for the USA

The 8 - 4 series that you are referring to that were updated with todays date 11/4/13 are bound for Port Hueneme, CA aboard the Toreador. I have been waiting at port since 10/27. My 435 will ship to NY as well. So don't panic yet. The last check of marine traffic.com shows the AIDA circling in the North Sea about 30nm from Bremerhaven, probably waiting for docking clearance. There are 3 vessels currently docked at the auto terminal. It is scheduled to dock tonight at 23:00 UDT. If the Aida leaves on the 6th without you car (and mine) then we can panic.

Just touched base with my CA and I'm Status 193, Priority 1, Destination Port of NYC

I guess I'll know for sure on Wednesday if I get on this boat or not.

Just to add another wrinkle: The Toreador sailed on the 2nd. But the tracking info says RECEIVED AT TERMINAL on the 4th. I guess its not realtime tracking info.
