7th Gen iPod Connected by Lightening Cable w/Tech Package

Has anyone used the latest iPod connected with Lightening cable in their car. My car has Tech Package with HUD and Premium Nav, curious that cable works.

Not iPod, but iPhone 5 which is pretty much the same and yes, the lightning cable works

Using the lightning cable works with my iphone 5 for BMW Apps, iPod with album art.
