Should I really wait for the 2015?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I found the exact 2014 that I am looking for but will I really regret buying it as opposed to waiting 3+ months for a 2015? As far as I know the only major change is standard bluetooth audio streaming, which this 2014 already has w/ tech package. I understand that the 2015 will have better resale down the road but I can expect a discount from the 2014 considering that the new models are coming out right? I'd love to hear your input and hopefully some encouragement that pulling the trigger on this 2014 is OK. Thanks guys |

sounds like you are buying the vehicle instead of leasing, in that case if you could wait do it !
As for the changes, I remember that in the U.S. there is also now a leather dashboard option. I've seen it in my dealer, it didn't really wow me but I guess for ~$1000 it's a nice touch. Also apparently they removed the tray/cover on top of the cupholders for 2015, which I think is just straight up cost cutting |

All the changes 2014 to 2015 are noted in the link above. Small stuff, wheel choice, leather dash, trim choice...... We ordered a 2015 for ED. Delivery date is Aug. 27. Get yourself signed up for the Un4gettable Event and save yourself $1K. |

No judgment though if you use yours! I guess in theory I'm still glad my car came with the cover... just in case. |

I debated this, ran the numbers and decided to get the 2014. It's going to be one of the last off the production line, they're building it this week.
Basically the tradeoff of increased value down the road is offset by the discount I was able to negotiate and the very good interest rate on the lease (which I intend to buy out). The rate offered on 2015's won't be that low for at least a few months, if not longer. |

Thanks for the helpful advice guys. I was pretty set on negotiating for the 2014 until my SA mentioned that they have "a bunch of 2015s on order that we can modify" for me and have it arrive in time. I wonder if it's possible to expect a 2015 by mid-late August

Start of production is 7/14. Building the car only takes a week. Shipping a car can take 4-6 maybe 8 depending on where your dealer is or where you take delivery.
Someone smarter than me will probable have a better idea on an August delivery but that might be aggressive. |

Note that they made the anthracite wood available on all trims at no extra cost. I think that alone is worth waiting for.
And that leather dash looks sweet, much more upscale than the current ones. If you are planning to get these, I'd wait. Otherwise I don't se any point in waiting. Also, you mentioned you found a car with the exact same options you want. What about the price? Check with the dealer if he can do the same price when the 2015 comes out. I bet he won't do that. If the 2014 is thousands less with the same configuration, I'd just get it since it's not a major facelift coming up.

The leather dashboard option is new and makes the dashboard look less cheap IMO. If that doesn't interest you, than go with the 2014. BMW seems to have fixed (in the 2014) all the annoyances with the 2012 - 2013 F30s that I noticed.

How long do you expect to hang on to the car? The longer you keep it, resale value becomes less of an issue. It doesn't make a bit of difference now that I bought a '75 2002 instead of waiting for the '76 model.
