GunMetal Grey Plastidip wheels on Jet Black car - Look good?

Do you guys think GunMetal grey Plastidip wheels will look good with Jet Black?? or with Silver Metallizer? or suggestions....

Anyone have any pics of Gunmetal grey plastidip wheels on dark cars?

Is it worth the effort, thinking of doing it to my 17" stock wheels.

simple answer? No. Plastidip'd wheels will pit so fast that you have to re-do them after 2-3 months. especially if they are silver wheels and a black car, any chip will stand out.

Least that's my .02

Completely not true if you don't half-ass the application. I plasti-dipped my stock rims 5 months ago and they are in the same condition as they were the day I dipped them..

Kromix are you going to have it professionally plasti dipped or DIY? I've been looking for a shop in our area who knows how to do it. I contacted dipyourcar and they said they are no longer dipping and told me to contact one of their authorized sellers (who didn't respond). I desperately want to try it on my sport line rims.

I agree. It depends on where you live and how much abuse they are going to be exposed to. Here in NY our roads are not only pot whole infested but there is stones, sand and leftover salt everywhere. I don't care how good you did in the application of the plasti coat it will not stand up to everything like a BAKED powder coat.

I don't know yet, I was thinking of DIY.... I wouldn't plastidip the sportline rims, they look soo good in that finish IMO.... I actually want to buy some sportline wheels, because I went with a NoLine :P

Plasti-dip is the definition of half-assing something. Paint it, powder coat it, refinish it; thats how you treat a brand new BMW... Plasti-dipping is just so VW to me, I wouldn't do it to a brand new BMW

I've done multiple applications of plasti-dip btw, Im not above it, I just wouldn't do it to our cars.

Hey if I couldn't figure out how to dip my wheels without needing a reapplication every 2-3 months then I'd be a hater like you too.

Plastidip is the best way to test a color scheme and is reversible.

The finish doesn't really "chip" like hard coated finishes. It's quite flexible and surprisingly durable. If you curb your wheels then they would come off for sure, but then I guess powdercoating or paint finish would be the same.

You can always cover the rash by respraying a fresh layer of dip. If you had a professionally finished wheel say in powdercoat or paint finish then you be left with an expensive repair bill.

From my personal experience, people don't even know what it is until you tell them. So there is alot of animosity towards the product without fully understanding what it actually is.

Just because it is a cheap product doesn't automatically mean it's inferior imho.

As I said previously, Ive used and re-used plastidip on multiple cars. I've seen it pit on front grills, I've also seen what happens if someone scrubs a little too hard on it and it starts to peel. Don't get me wrong its a great product, but it's great for a 20k VW or used Audi, not someone to use on a brand new BMW. It was just my .02 but if you spent that much on the car, at least put some $ into what you do with it.

sorry I disagree, its only my opinion.
