Yes but only one engine option is coming. With or without xDrive.

Scott, thanks for the confirmation, could you confirm if a manual will be offered in what I presume is the 328i E91? Any speculation on when I could take Euro Delivery of one too?

I'm not going to modify a family hauler. I like to buy wagons as program cars about a year into factory warranty, certified with about 5 years or 100K of coverage, for 12-15K off MSRP. So I'm not cocking about with the car while BMW is paying all the bills, ya know? I've done the 4-cyl turbo thing in this type of car with two Audi A4s and it just doesn't work for me. I want a naturally aspirated straight six displacing between 3 and 3.3L with 250-275bhp and a highway EPA rating of 31+ mpg. Might have to step up the a 5-series wagon with the N55 if they bring it back.

Why would they bring back a less powerful, less efficient engine that's already on the outs? There have been numerous announcements that every single BMW will be turbocharged by 2012.

One of the things I hate America. I'd rather see 5 series wagons or 3 series wagons than all the ugly small suv's and minivans out there. I drive a coupe but if I need a people mover, or if I have a wife some day who needs something to carry kids, it sure as hell won't be a minivan.

So, will it be possible to get the 328i Touring with xDrive and the adaptive dampers with a real sports mode? I want a sports suspension and my wife insists on AWD in our next car. If the F31 is anything like the F11, it'll be killer!
This is so great!! I'll just keep saving for now.

I'm asking because they haven't done so before but the F10 is available with that set-up now.
Perhaps they won't offer the non-electronic damper sport suspension on the xDrive cars but will offer the dampers and thusly a sports mode.

Yes indeed.
This model and spec just got added to my commuter (and long distance trips) car wishlist. My next car purchase will likely be in spring 2013. The decision will be - trade in the M5 on something of similar size and performance in the BMW line up, or keep it and add a luxurious comfortable fun to drive daily driver with sporting intentions, but good economy and running cost. With a wagon you have the added flexibility of not having to drive home to fetch the SUV if you should happen to stop at Home Depot or the home furnishings store (you know it happens..) during your weekend outings..

In the US. it is acknowledged by BMW North America's German boss that the wagon market is dead for Premium manufacturers. BMW are not the only ones having problems selling wagons alongside their SUV's.
BMW will not spend money on federalizing the Touring for the US when the state of the market is non-existant. The 3er Touring is an exception because it was put forward when the 5er was not.
