Thank you. So is it as easy as pulling on the old sill around the edges to release the yellow clips?

So my set died after only 1.5 years.

Anybody know what kind of battery these use?

Installation is easy, but you will have to cut out the little plastic clip in the center so that the battery area of the new door sill can lay flat.

It might not be the battery. The one I had on my drivers side died at 2 years, when I opened it up the insides were all corroded. There is a weatherstrip that's supposed to seal the joint between the two sections on the top of it but it's not watertight, so eventually water will seep into it. The drivers side is more vulnerable because that door gets opened more often, and more often gets water dripped on it from wet shoes. I swapped their positions, then filled the channel between the inner part that has the logo and the outer black part with silicone to seal it water tight. This doesn't affect changing the battery, which is accessed from the rear.

I've got these equipped on my car (purchased CPO in October), but I've never noticed either one lit up. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I'm thinking I may just swap the batteries out, but I'm curious if it could be something with the magnet that activates them? Did those of you that installed these yourself have to install that magnet that activates them, or is it already in the door?
