My installer tried a few times on CIC using my friend's car. So far it does not seem to work and require nbt.

Is coding required when swapping from 8.8 to 10.25?

How does the plastic casing detach?

What holds the screen/lens together??

You just unclip it, small clips all around on the inside, you have to be very careful. The glass is glued to the LCD.

Hey Alex,

Why did you have to trim the glass? i think that is the most intimidating piece of this puzzle. Would the glass has stuck out beyond the outer casing your trimmed? When i was test fitting mine, it was really close to being a direct fit meaning i could almost push the screen down just enough where i could have bolted it back in place (after i trimmed off the 2 middle back pieces)

I did not go straight to glass cutting, that was costly part. If you have the unit in hand you can measure the glass on the bottom and see it is wider then the opening on the vehicle. You can push the unit down with force, but even the smallest pressure will break the plastic holders the two screws go into after about a week or so. You can cut a small piece of the dash out with a razor blade, save it and glue it back in if you decide to go back to stock. I doubt anyone will ever notice.

That is what I thought also, the second you cut the back to fit it in, then push down, the clips will break from the pressure of pushing it down after a week. You also have a leather dash that soft, much easier to push down on.

Thanks for posting.. the 1st three photos make perfect sense... But starting with photo # 4... you lost me just a bit...

What is the purpose that white piece of paper.. were you making a new fiberglass mold or something? I notice the texture completely changes in your final photos... can you explain that?

Could you have not just done the 1st 3 steps stopped there?

It's very clever how you wrapped the rear screen to mask all the cuts to the rear plastic cover. Can you share in more detail what material was used and how you attached it?

Your leather dashboard is beautiful.
