F31 Thurst Rod Bushing Leaking

The local dealer recently stated I have a "Front left thrust rod bushing leaking". Sorry for the dumb question, but is a thrust rod the same as a control arm? It's my understanding that replacing a control rod is a relatively easy DIY, is this true? Thanks in adavance.
