I want that turbo "blow off" sound...which mod?

I remember back in my highschool days, some kids with gti's had that blowoff valve sound from the turbos and I remember it was just from an intake. Can I get that same sound from my 2014 320i? (Not manual btw). If so what is the most affordable intake I can purchase? I know they don't do crap performance wise so I'm not trying to spend much just for sound. Thanks!

Like you said no performance gains but I think this is what you are looking for:

I think I saw those on ebay for like $430ish. Mmm way to stiff for an intake.

So for Injen and AFe, which one will be more noticeable inside car?

Also anyone tried GruppeM intake too? how does that compare to the above two in terms of cabin sound?

GruppeM is at least 4x times more expensive but I didn't have a chance to hear how it sounds so far.

If you go with AFE or Injen you wont make any mistake and some people say that Injen sounds bit louder compared to AFE but they're both equally good overall.

I had the Carbonio intake on my GTI and the blowoff was so loud it turned heads on the street. Really loud. Not what I was looking for. Then I went with the Modshack intake which was best but ultimately I went back to the stock airbox. The wastegate dump on my car is actually louder than it was on my stock GTI for sure. It's really the only thing you can hear with this engine. Before you do anything, you need to get a tune first. That added PSI is going to give you more induction sounds, turbo hiss and wastegate sounds. Try that first, then an intake. The tune will give you quite a bit more power, louder blowoff sound and costs $100 more than an intake which will really only give you noise. $350 is a lot to spend on zero performance gains. Next step I would take would be the evolution motorwerx downpipe.

What's the consensus on power gains with these? For Naturally aspirated engines, these do nothing, but can any gains be had on turbos with a better intake?

I might buy one for the noise though

None, it's a noisemaker.

FYI that probably threw codes in their car. A lot of German cars look for that air, which is why most of our cars are fitted with diverter valves, that put air back into the system. Blow off valves vent atmospherically, I can tell you firsthand that GTIs (1.8 and 2.0 T's) don't like em.

The Injen is definitely the better option out of the two.
