Step 2. Take foot off brake pedal, and hit start button again, and all electronics will turn off.

Slight variation to Step 1, I rarely hit the park button, I just hit the engine start/stop button and it puts the transmission in park and stops the engine.

I do sometimes use the park button if, for example, I pull up to an atm and the ASS kicks in. Hitting the Park button will keep the ventilation going and putting the car into drive starts the engine.

Additional Cigarette Lighter port. Not sure if it is already discussed (I read first 40 pages so far) but I found additional port to charge your phone etc. It is hidden under the glove box and you have to look from underneath to see it. It is not in glove box but below it.

I was looking for a port to connect my Radar detector and this is perfect location as wires can be hidden.

Please tell me how you set nav to home and nav to work as I have been wanting to do this but can't seem to get it to work.

EDIT - ignore me I've managed it thanks to a post above which I missed.

Hey guys, I'm new here and I love this forum, learn something new everyday! Didn't realize you cou program stuff other than radio stations hahhaa. Mercedes definitely didn't have this feature.

1) Call wife
2) Call assistant
3) FM radio station
4) Sat radio station
5) check text messages
6) BMW Online weather
7) Navigate home
8) Sports Display

I'm thinking I have too many hotkeys for radio stations since I'm usually streaming the Sirius XM app on my iphone because the sat radio quality on the BMWs suck.

You need to create an address in the address book first.

2 interesting things I like:

1 - There's a "secret" glove compartment on the driver's side under the headlight switch - perfect for sunglasses.
2 - My favorite programmed buttons are:
a) Split screen toggle
b) Navigation night mode toggle

If you have the driver assistance plus package, you won't have that cubby. In its place are the assistance plus package buttons (active drive assistance, lane departure warning, etc).

Just noticed when I was parking in my garage that whenever I applied the brakes, the headlight beam would go up by a small amount.

Not all markets get that small storage cubby. Unfortunately we don't get it here either.

Never mind, I found it. It just to the left of the glove box. This should come in handy!

It has been mentioned somewhere before, but i recently (randomly) found out (after over 3.5 years of driving the car) that the lights by the outside door handles light up when you put the car in reverse...

Cool beans.

I don't have access to car for 2 days. I will post picture as soon as I can. You have to look under the gloves box in the foot well. You will find a hole for putting the charger.

Your outlet looks different.

Can anybody confirm how many total outlets we have in the car. Is it 3 or more then that.
