Wow, thanks for posting! Looks great, and the photos are fantastic. You have impeccable taste! What wheels are those? Do Canadian M sports come with different wheels than US, or did you order them?

Thanks all for your kind comments !

Those wheels are 18" Style 415 (standard on Modern) with Pirelli 240 Sottozero II snow tires. This winter set is the one offered by BMW Canada to fit the 335i M Sport with factory option M Sport brakes.
There are very few other wheels that will fit over the larger Brembo callipers and rotors.

The lighthouse (or more accurately, a light beacon) is obscured by the car. "Lighthouse Park" is located on the SW tip of Pt. Roberts, Wa., overlooking the Strait of Georgia.

M Sport brakes ?

For our US neighbours, here is a photo illustrating the optional factory installed M Sport brakes ($350). The front rotors are 370mm, rear 345mm and both are fitted with blue Brembo callipers.

Unfortunately, these brakes cannot be ordered by US customers, but you can get the port-installed M Performance brakes for $2700 + installation. The only difference between these two types of brakes are that the latter come with slotted/drilled rotors and the callipers come in either red or yellow.

Thus far, the M Sport brakes on my car have been silent and very effective.

Very nice car. I too live in the Vancouver area and just got my 335i M Sport in EBII. Right now I am running the 19 inch with summer performance. Therefore I am not driving it much in the sub freezing temperatures we are having right now as the tires aren't optimum. I have an old car to use at present. I too have the M sport brakes which are very nice and very dusty! Next summer while I have lots of time I am going to see if I can order up a set of 400M 18 inch rims and get a set of dedicated snows put on. I am pretty sure the 400M rims will fit the M sport brakes as that is an option setup on the BMW configurator.

Your wheels look pretty darn smart as well - I could live with that as a winter setup. Dedicated winters are the way to go. All seasons are a compromise no matter what the season. I think you are much better to have dedicated winters November through March and then switch over to summers. Expensive option but for maximum motoring pleasure the best idea.

Thanks to all for your positive feedback !

Agamemnon: I think you will find that once you have driven past 1200 kms, the brake dust seems to be reduced. Yes, the Style 400 wheels came with my car, so they fit fine with the M Sport brakes. But I had the winter wheels/tires installed before delivery, so I haven't actually driven my car with the summer set-up.

Yes, my winter wheels/tires are not cheap, but since I will be keeping the car for at least 7 years, they will be worth it to me. I am surprised how good those Modern turbine wheels look on the M Sport ! These wheels & tires are the winter package recommended by BMW Canada for the 335i M Sport. The Pirelli tires are excellent in rain, snow and on ice !

Hey, I'm curious, how did you get the MSport brakes. Were they an option when you ordered the vehicle? How much was the option if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the process of placing an order for one now.

Thanks,
-Wes

See Post #11 above. These brakes are $350 extra, but they cannot currently be ordered by US customers. For the rest of the world, it's Option 2NH.

DerekS, I thought you shot the photos in the Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver (the one with a real light house)... But what the heck, you have some great pics there!

My EBII M Sport is literally chilling out in the garage as I don't have winter tires yet. I am eager to drive it now that the temperature has gone back above freezing. Too bad it isn't clean at all for taking any photo at the moment.
