All of the most recent VAG (Volkswagon Auto Group) cars are so bland and boring... The Jetta, for example, was a REALLY sweet looking car in MKV (or I think it is) but looking at a MKVI just puts me to sleep...

The pre face-lifted CC was/is a stunning car, but then they face-lifted it and it looks just like a bland boring Passat...

How do you know this? All speculation until it happens.

And in their base form, the f31 isn't as classy. But throw an MSport pack on the F31 and...

Just for the record we're comparing a 2013 F31 to a 2008 B8, I have a B8 and I like the facelift but I'm tired of the lines and I think they're dated compared to the F31, but let me tell you the interior of the B8 and MMI functionality is superior to the F31.

It's sporty as hell and I love it, but it wont have 3 pedals... and that's a shame.

Right??? The original CC was really nice. Now when I see a new one I have to read the freakin badge to see if it's a CC or a Passat! They ruined it!

Audi Y U NO take real life pictures?!?!?!

Every damn comparo is with a perfectly gray outlit Audi vs a bimmer or a benz in real life light combined with a little photoshop. The A4 looks great on these pics and I can see why it sells but it doesn't have any of the sleek style irl as this shows imo

The styles are so completely different, it's hard to say which I like more. The BMW has so much more going on. So many more lines. But the Audi has it's wonderfully minimalist design. It's like an old Braun transistor radio.

There is one thing that *really* bugs me about the new 3-series front end though. There's a horizontal cutline just above the roundel that runs the width of the hood between the headlights. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. You'll notice that on the Audi, the hood sheet metal runs all the way to the grill. The E90 (and friends) did the same. The hood came down to the top of the grill(s), with the cutlines running through the thin vertical body panels to the left and right.

With the cutline above the roundel, the design reminds me of the 1980s GM design strategy of building common body shells with plastic end caps slapped on to differentiate between model lines like Buick and Oldsmobile. It seems like a shortcut, and I really dislike it.

How does anyone know it won't be offered in a manual?????? I work at BMW, and I know nothing is sealed until it is released.

Trust me, I hope I'm REALLY wrong! I've read it on these forums many times including a BMW press release AFAIK.

I'll find the thread and repost...

Okay, sorry for the double quote but here you go...

The F31 3 Series Touring will hit European dealer showroom floors on Sept 22, 2012. U.S. customers will have to wait until March 2013 for the F31 328i. The good news is that xDrive and M Sport Package will be available at the U.S. launch. The bad news is no manual transmission and no 335i for now. BMW would love to offer more models but, as history has taught, they don’t expect to sell too many units of the F31 in the U.S. However, if the market proves them wrong and demands for more, they are ready to offer another model, be it a 335i or a Diesel version

My thoughts exactly when I saw the first F30 pics. I realize the nose is lower and droopier this year but did they have to cut the hood there? I could never buy a light paint color -- that tacky hood cut jumps out, even more than on the 5 series. The E90 front was much cleaner.

If true, they lost my business and my trade-in. How ridiculous. I realize that no dealer would order any manuals for stock, but what possible excuse could there be not to offer manual by order? BMW builds zillions of them for the Euro market.

A buzzy 4-banger with slushbox has zero interest for me. I could get that from Audi. Or Ford.

I like the Audi better. Its just aesthetically more pleasing even though its older.

I really like the F1x but not the F3x. I think BMW cocked this one up.

Shark nose design with a roundel on the nose versus the hood is throwback to the '80s.

IMHO BMW's aggressive long hood/bonnet design doesn't suit the wagon/touring profile of this car. It looks a bit awkward or confused! I'd take the 3 series sedan or the upcoming 4 series coupé.. And out of those two cars, most likely I'll choose the Audi and run it on big black rims.. I like how the Audi A4 touring has a lower roof height profile.. But the 3 series has a lot cooler interior.. it's a hard choice! Both are great cars..

The Audi's the better looking car. The BMW's low hood with high rear end makes the car look very hurse-like; it kind of reminds me of the Merc E-Class wagon from the late 90s early 2000s.

Key word "for now." I am sure they didn't consider releasing a 6spd with the e91 but they are available. So let's hope and pray they get their shit together, lol.

Yeah and the side of the F31 looks pre-dented. Rough. Way too much creasing.

Is that photoshopped? How did you configure an M Sport with the brushed aluminum trim, red highlight and no M footrest?
