E90 to F36 Journal! (Pics included)

Hello,

So I realized I spend the most amount of time on these forums, looking at 100s of pictures a day and following thread. I figured the best way is to start my own thread and actually keep track of what I mods on the car. A mix of a few cellphone pics and DSLR.

Bought my first BMW 4 years ago, 2011 328i xdrive. Basic but what fun to drive. That steering on it was mind blowing. Still miss it. Mods on the E90 (as far I can remember):

E90

- Performance grills
- LUX angel eyes
- HID fog lights
- Vinyl wrap roof
- CSL 19" Replicas (initially silver, then powder coated black)
- OEM Exhaust (Best mod)
- Mtech steering wheel (Another best mode)
- Clear reflectors
- Lowered on Eibachs Pro-kit
- Tinted 30%
- A number of coded features

Here's what it looked like before parting out upon lease end:

F36 - August 13, 2015

Onto an upgrade, picked up last Thursday (August 13, 2015) is the 2015 BMW 435ix Gran Coupe. Keys Specs as follows:
- Adaptive drive with VSS
- MPPK, MPE
- Premium Package
- Active LEDs

Huge upgrade with all the gadgets that I did not have in the previous one. So far loving it. The N55 is smooth, absolutely love it. Only at 300ish kms on it right now. I do miss the steering on the E90. Still trying to get used to the VSS. The exhaust is very quiet, surprised that even in the sports mode, sometimes I can't tell the car is running. Hopefully once the exhaust breaks in it would be better. On to the pictures:

Of course it begins with a few simple mods to start off with:

- BMW Performance Grills (August 15, 2015):

- IND painted reflectors (what a PITA to install) - August 16, 2015:

Black grills and red rods - November 22, 2015:

congrats for the new ride, such a beauty! I am little bit surprised exhaust sound even for the MPE, maybe after 2000 Kilometers. Car needs ACS so bad. enjoy!

Thanks

Nice car! Great color combo & nice specs.

tint (mild so you can still stunt the superman combo), M perf diffuser, M alum pedals are some other cheap mods I'd suggest. Keep the pics coming, especially after springs.

Congrats!

Definitely need ACS. I'm hoping the exhaust opens up after 2000 kms.

Too be honest, I can't tell. I haven't pushed the car yet. At the same time, I have not driven one without it.

Almost at the same level as E90. Had to spray tons of goo gone, some heat gun and just keep putting more and more pressure. Not fun at all.

Congrats! Looking good. As you know I have the same set-up minus the LEDs... the exhaust gets better, much better... it will start to pop, fart and burble, especially once you pass break in and start to open it up. Enjoy!

How long is the break-in period?

I took it easy for the first 1000kms, but probably safer to do about 1600kms or so. Likelihood is you won't fully make it to 1000kms without a few WOT runs... if you don't plan to keep it for a long time who cares, enjoy yourself now. Almost 24k kms and a year later for me and the car feels much quicker than when I first got it. You're gonna love it...

That's what we all said about a hundred times...

Congrats on the new ride. Your color combo is definitely the fastest

Very Nice! Love the color matched bimmerangs on the Estroil. I think I got lucky on my IND reflectors because they took approx. 10 minutes to replace once I used a heat gun.. All the glue came off and all..

I also went from E90 to F30. Luckily I still have both. The E90s steering and nimbleness is very nice, but the F30 is far quicker, looks better to me, and has a way better interior/features.
