335i MPG

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I am almost done with my second tank, i have about 260 on it with about 50-60 miles left, which should average to about 20-21 mpg which is what I got on my first tank. I only have about 500 miles, will my MPG improve as my miles build up, or do I need to drive like a grandma to get 25-27 MPG???

can anyone with a 335i share there MPG pls???

If you drive in sport mode expect to get around 20. If you drive in eco pro expect close to 28. The throttle and shifting is so agressive in sport you need to be smart with it. If your on the highway, go into eco pro. if your in the city keep it in comfort, save sport mode for when you want to have fun.

I have a 328, if i drive in sport mode i will get close to 20mpg. if i drive in eco i get close to 30.

In that case, stop and go and traffic are killers.

i dont think thats a big reason.

if you are primarily doing city driving 80/20 comfort sport then something liek 20-24mpg sounds reasonable.

I'm probably 60% hwy / 40% city, went through my first tank of gas, about 20.5mpg. 90% comfort model.

7000 miles driven. I get between 24mpg with 75% city driving, 26.5mpg when it's more 50/50, and 30+ mpg when I'm logging lots of highway miles.

do you ever go over 4000 RPM , i honestly feel like in order to reach that mpg i have to accelerate very slowly, i tried driving in eco mode once and the car felt like it had no power at all, if I am going to drive in eco mode than i should just sell the car and get a Prius which will never happen , but what pisses me off is that I cant even get the average to equal the 23 mpg rating , i guess I am enjoying the car

95% comfort and 80/20 city/highway split, i'm seeing 24-25. On the hwy on a trip with the cruise set to a bit below 80, I saw 34.

Only 2500 miles on my clock, with about 700 of that coming from a long hwy trip and my car is showing 27.1 overall. Resetting the trip on a tank and driving aggressively it'll quickly drop into the teens, but driving conservatively helps alot. I never use eco-pro, just hate the throttle response.

Definitely. Traffic prevents spirited driving during a lot of my work commute, but I routinely hit 5000-6000 rpm.

If I drive conservatively in comfort mode I average about 30mpg. Mostly highway.

If I drive aggressively in sport, I average about 22mpg.

Eco Pro does not seem to do much of anything for my gas mileage. Once I babied it and got 34 mpg over 30 miles. I can do the same in comfort mode.

Often, I just keep it in sport mode with the sport gearshift to the left and keep it in a higher gear when I want to conserve. This still gives merge flexibility to be aggressive in an instant.

I have 8700 miles on mine.

I currently average about 19.5 MPG but I live in sport mode.

However I did spend 1 tank in eco mode and got 430 miles which is about 28mpg

I have similar mileage and results. Always in Sport + Mode. 19.5 MPG average. 8000 miles. I've never reset my average MPG meter. I was pretty disappointed at first. But now I don't really care.
