What a joke! These 'lines' are the biggest fail for the F30. Won't be buying a new 3-series period unless they admit this was a mistake and correct it. Sad really, BMW used to have the most options out of all the other Germans in regards to exterior color, leather color and interior trim.
Who on earth thought this was a good idea? I guess I'll be holding on to my E90 LCI and remember the good ole days when I could order whatever color I wanted, whatever interior I wanted, whatever trim I wanted and whatever specific options I wanted. FAIL FAIL FAIL.

No, if that is happening - that is a bug. I placed my order yesterday and they had accidentally selected Adaptive suspension with the Sport Package and it added $900. So, no, even though the configurator adds it for free, if you go to the dealer, you'll be disappointed.

Very nice!!
The way they packaged this car made the price of my car go down about 3K. I built my sport line 335i for $52,095, I guess this means that by default I get the sport suspension, right?

"Lines" equal FAIL. Not gonna get an F30...want sport auto with paddles, but must have Sport Line, but I really don't like the red highlights in the dash or seats. As a longtime BMW owner (e36, e46, e90), loved the old simplicity of starting with base model...selecting exterior color, interior color, dash accent color, & packages as freely as your heart desired. Now, I have a BMW marketer telling me, "if you want this, need to add "X Line". Not Happy! Guess I'll look at Audi or new Caddi ATS...doubt they will force me to get "red highlights" in my black sport seats.

I'm still on the fence with the F30. I'm not really a fan of the front end or that hood line. The interior is a bit busy for my tastes, especially with the iPad nav screen. Being forced to pick from a "line" is really the straw breaking the camel's back. I'll stick with my E90 LCI and wait to see what the M3 brings to the table. Thankfully I'm in no hurry to get rid of my E90, so I'm comfortable on the sidelines for now.

Yep. Everyone was happy when the MSRPs were released and they were very close to the e90, but their packaging of lines and options is where the price increase truly lies IMO.

Am I the only one who's noticed that the God-awful front license plate bracket is in all the photos in the configurator. I know we've been assured it's not on every car, but this makes me very nervous. It's a deal breaker for me.

Fully loaded Luxury Line 328i = ~$52,000
Fully loaded Luxury Line 335i = ~$57,000 Is this still a 3-series? You can pretty much get a similarly equipped Audi A6 Premium Plus w/Innovation Pkg for lower than the loaded 335, with more options, in a bigger, faster car. Am I missing something? At least you can hide the crappy nav on the A6... |

You can choose black highlights for the dash instead of red. But the red seat piping can't be switched out |

It makes me nervous too. Its not in the configurator, but in the pictures of the lines right before you start to configure a car.

Red stitching in the black seats doesn't bother me, but the only non black options are red and grey for the sportline, that really irritates me. 3 series offered a great combination of luxury and sport, but now they are being separated. And the options pricing is absolutely ridiculous.
