Muffler delete or Custom?

I need recommendation for the exhaust, is it better to do muffler delete or custom? if I want to do custom, I am going to choose between Magnaflow and Vortex. Have you guys ever tried or heard about magnaflow and vortex on N20?

thank you!

I am not a big fan of muffler delete for daily driver, it is too loud in my opinion. Magnaflow make good exhausts for BMW

Me neither... I started with a muffler delete and it was obnoxious (too much drone), then I got a custom magnaflow exhaust and it is great! no drone and you get all the shift burps and aggressive sound at full throttle...

That explains why the AA drones at certain occasions with dp because it's a straight through with buzzing mufflers no chambers inside !

Deletes sound pretty good on video. Plus you can never hear drone on video. This is one of those things that you need to trust what you read or find out for yourself.

Deletes sound decent at warm idle and high rpm's. Anything in between and you will get massive drone. Drone so massive it will vibrate the heck out of the car.

You can find videos of my "custom" exhaust. And even mine is pretty obnoxious during cold starts so imagine what no muffler would sound like.

There's definitely drone in comfort but it's not that intense

You can't tell me any different. I had my muffler disconnected for 2 days, coupled with a catless DP the drone was horrid! Don't plan on having a convo with people in the back seat.

This here proves one mans opinion can greatly vary from another's. Sound is relative.....

I'm not sure why so many go for the muffler delete as their foray into modifying the stock system. It is almost guaranteed to sound bad and drone etc, and now there are several examples with feedback. Don't do it.

On the other hand, deleting the resonator is going to add more flavor and slightly more noise to the exhaust, but retaining the muffler will keep it all in check. It's also a much simpler modification, at a straight section of pipe and no need to deal with the tips. I'm always on the lookout for someone who has only deleted the resonator. Seems I may need to be the guinea pig on this one..

I don't have a downpipe on mine. A downpipe and a delete would be unbearable!

I don't think I can do DP + delete but just the delete works for me. I don't really hear much to be honest but that's probably because my music is loud 95% of the time. There is drone but I like it.
