The connect would - in the same way as the Play - take the music from your NAS and feed it through your existing amp/speakers.
It does not take music from your CD for example and feed it out.

So I would need to move my existing system around the house to get same as 2 Ones?

I believe the connect is good and fits a segment, however it does not appear that flexible.

I can already feed via optical out from PlayStation using DNLA to NAS.

You will not go wrong with the standard set up and Sonos speakers they just work. The biggest issue is that once you have one and then start adding when do you have enough? I can easily find an excuse to add another!

Yep, I have already looked at adding a bathroom speaker, garage already has an old system in it, however a One would be ideal.

We have a bathroom speaker in one of our en-suites. IMO they're rubbish. You need at least two to get stereo affect then to get any decent speakers you need a 4inch hole in the ceiling. We bought a decent spotlight sized one (Cambridge Audio) and I wasn't very impressed.

We just now have a portable iPod dock we put in the bathroom (You'll laugh but it's bose) but it does the job.

Well I picked up 2 X Sonos Ones today (a twin pack for £299).

Total doddle to set them both up, paired initially as Stero Pair.

Picked up my NAS ITunes easily.

Fully sorted........

Well there is a but..

Now that my darling wife has seen them setup as a Stereo pair, she has claimed them both.

So I now need to get another One for me - bloody women.

Will likely wait until 20th or so and sign up for Apple Music.

Anyone not taken the plunge yet, can fully recommend a twin pack of Sonos Ones.

Might see if I can sneak one of them upstairs lol.
