tighter steering
Just realized that when i FULLY turn off the traction (done by holding the traction button for about 10 seconds) the steering wheel feel tighter like it does in sports mode, perhaps even tighter.
Been driving like this for the past couple of days and must say the drive is definitely more fun with the electronics not interfering as much and the tighter steering. Sorry if this is a repost |

I have been wrestllng with this the last week. Here is what I think I have discovered. If you have DHP, try it and see what you find
after many attempts to figure this out, I realized the I drive screen tells you what its doing when you initiate the sport+ mode. When you go to sport + mode, beside the traction control change, the drive mode (with DHP and in my case MPPK and sport 8sp auto) is set to chassis and drivetrain configuration in sport+ whether you have chosen chassis only or not as your sport button configuration ( my normal config ) via I drive It raises the shift points and the throttle response. I still think it also tightens the steering but its incremental (or wishful thinking). The shift points seem to go even higher when toggle the shifter lever but only tired it once or twice. check it out and let me know if I am correct or hallucinating. |

Funny, I've been thinking that Eco Pro makes the steering even less engaging than Comfort mode. I'll have to try driving in Comfort with no traction control to see how it feels.
For the record, I have a Sport Line with no DHP. |

I've been doing this everyday for over a year, and it's the only way I'll drive the car in comfort mode. One of my favorite things about the car, since it isn't always practical to drive in sport+ in stop and go traffic.

So you drive in comfort mode with traction control off?? Holding down the button for 5 seconds or whatever, right?

If you have the adaptive suspension, you can configure sport mode to chassis only, tames the shifting to normal level (not so high RPM's all the time), but keeps tighter suspension and steering without having to disable traction control. Then you still have Sport + for the more aggressive throttle and dynamic traction control.

I'm not sure if I follow.
First off, DHP affects the suspension and variable steering at different speeds. Without DHP, steering responsiveness and drive train is still switchable via the different settings, as you all have discussed above. DHP doesn't change the steering. Or are you saying that using Comfort mode with sport suspension makes the car more responsive than sport mode??? |

Many report in other threads that the 3-series cars default back to comfort settings, if the DSC is switched off (long hold). I know my 5-series switches the mode back to 'normal' from the sport settings, when you hold the DSC switch down. And that includes the active suspension and steering, even though checked in the configuration settings. HighlandPete |

I have m-sport suspension NON adaptive. I am just saying my steering is tighter when all traction is turned off, in comfort mode.
It seems as some have posted that you can achieve this same effect without turning DSC if you have DHP . |
