At least the angle of the cone seems to be the same and the holes of the e90 wheels are large enough for the f30 bolts so I still think it should work.

397 whells will work on E90 / E91
hi all
iam pretty sure that 397 whells will work on E90 / E91 they are Et 34 My concern is about 400M the rear ones are ET 47 !!!!! what do you think ?? Wheels: Wheel 1 Wheel 2 Wheel size 18x8.5 ET 37 18x8 ET 47 BackSpace 157 mm (6.2'') 161 mm (6.3'') 3 mm (0.1'') deeper. Rim Lip 17 mm (0.7'') wider Typical Weight ~ 28 lbs / 13 kg ~ 26 lbs / 12 kg Tires: Tire 1 Tire 2 Tire size 255/40-18 225/45-18 Section width 255 mm (10'') 225 mm (8.9'') Sidewall 102 mm (4'') 101 mm (4'') Tire diameter 661 mm (26'') 659 mm (25.9'') 2 mm (0.3%) shorter. Rim sizes 18x7.5 to 18x9.5 18x6.5 to 18x8.5 Circumference 2076 mm (81.7'') 2069 mm (81.5'') Revs per mile 775.4 777.7 Speedometer Assuming that this is OEM tire and speedometer readings are correct >>> When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 59.8mph (96.3km/h): 0.3% slower. Typical Weight ~ 25 lbs / 11 kg ~ 23 lbs / 10 kg Wheel+Tire Weight ~ 53 lbs / 24 kg ~ 49 lbs / 22 kg Clearance: Package 1 Package 2 Suspension Assuming that this is OEM wheel/tire and there is no any problems with clearance on both sides >>> 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM) Fenders 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM) Wheelwells The same. Those ET47 wheels will fit on e90, but will look really tucked, so spacers are kinda needed.

Glad to see some traffic starting to pick up on F30 post. This thread seems the most comprehensive on what I expect to be an ongoing conversation (maybe worth making it a Sticky?).
I am currently running 189s as my winter set-up for my e90. I will be ordering an F30 soon (likely Msport/RWD, possibly Adaptive M suspension). From what I have read on this thread it sounds like: 1. I will have no problem mounting the 189s on an F30, but I will have to use the F30 bolts. 2. The front will fit perfectly fine but the rears will be a bit pushed out. (Please correct me if I am wrong on those!) 3. My question is, with the lower profile tires on the 189s, I suppose there will be more of a wheel well gap, but is there any other negative consequence of having the "incorrect" profile ratio? Incorrect speedometer reading? I guess logically you have less rubber so could there be increased risk of damaging the rims on a pothole or bottoming out in general? Not that I had planned on it but I assume dropping it would increase any of these possible issues. Does anyone know if the M adaptive suspension is any lower than the standard Msport? Appreciate any input!!

For all those interested, I've replaced my 397's with my old 156 style alloys for winter on my F30.
They fitted with no issues, albeit there's not alot of room round the calliper. |

I'm considering move from the stock 16" to a 17", the E90's ones are considerably cheaper than the f30's, also the profile in 45 instead of 50 allows a better price for the tires |

A little update from my post back in 2013. I actually ended up swapping the summer/winter tires between the 189s and 193s and turned in my e90 with the 189s switching the 193s to winter use - which ended up being a bad idea, since the tire place ruined a couple of the tires in the process.
Anyway, I ran the 193s with the incorrect aspect ratio for three winters with no real issues. Of course the speedo was about 5 mph off and technically the odometer has some phantom miles on it, but it worked for a couple months of the year. The only issue i ever had was that the traction control calibration was a bit off and i did have some ground clearance issues, but i was on Dinan springs and i think i would have been fine if i didnt drop it. Now I am in a 2016 340 with the Track Handling Package, which has brought a new problem. It turns out the front Msport calipers just barely scrape the inside of the 193s. I mean we are talking 1, maybe 2 millimeters. I may just file down the edge of the calipers a bit or i have a friend with a lathe who said he could probably make a small channel in the wheel, but just a PSA for those with the Msport brakes. Sorry for the terrible cell phone pics.

I'm thinking of putting style 393's on our E61 wagon. wheels would fit really well (just stick out 6mm more) -- but I'm dumb -- can someone tell me what the deal is with the bolts. Would I just use the 5er bolts (which are same as my E90's) on the F30 wheels? Looks like from the picture above that'd probably work just fine?

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. New member here:
2007 328i (225 45 17 tires) If anyone can help me, I'm looking at a set of used winter tires on rims. They are 205 55 16 Nexen Winspike. The person says they are off a 328xi 2009 or 2011. I asked if it was a 2011, was is the e90 or f30 and they weren't sure as the car was totaled and there are no records. I have 3 questions: 1 - Will rims off an xi fit an i 2 - Will f30 rims fit e90 3 - Will 16" rims mount up without issue. (I know some of the 3 series come stock with 16" just want to be %100 sure) Any help would be greatly appreciated guys, and sorry again if this is in the wrong thread, still trying to figure this forum out. |

Hello BMW Experts!
I just tried to put my old E46 SSR wheels on my '17 330i. All looked good until I tried to put the F30 M14 lug bolt through the wheel hole: F30 Bolt diameter is too big for this wheel! Murf Last edited by Littlebear; 12-22-2017 at 10:28 AM.. |

Just bumping for this question if anyone has any insight -- I shouldn't have a problem putting the 5er's M12x1.5 bolts through the F30 wheels, right?
