Yeah, but it should be as the Borla can be had for about $800. This thing retails for what, 2-3x as much?

This is not in Meisterschaft's hands at all. They make some of the premier exhaust products in the world. It's just the nature of the N20. |

Everyone knows the N20 will never sound as good as a BMW 6, but with an aftermarket exhaust at least it sounds like it has it's own personality. It's not obnoxious or boy racerish, it's just right and completely compliments the car. |

Going back to my week with a prototype catback, it did not sound inexpensive or typical 4 cylinder, it sounded better, a bit more deep and complicated tone befitting a more expensive car. It did not sound like a Civic or the typical ricer comments found around here. It finally had a voice, my wife even commented on how it sounded like a proper car now. The problem is 99% of the time, any video you take of an exhaust does not sound anywhere near how it does in person.

i think borla should have at least cleaned and polished their exhaust before putting up pix of their system. I was surprised at the pix they took. looked like a home made dirty mickey mouse job.

Meisterschaft Dyno
So I did a bit of dyno.
1. 3 tries on AFE power scorcher module + OEM exhaust 2. 3 tries on AFE power scorcher module + GTHAUS GTC-EV(open mode) Notes: 1) Mustang Dynometer 2) Shell ultra helix 5w40 engine oil 3) Shell fuelsave 98 fuel (roughly equivalent to 93 in the states) 4) Comfort mode (if it even matters) Results: 1) AFE power scorcher module + OEM exhaust Average peak torque 331.55 Nm at wheels Average peak HP 217.02 whp 2) AFE power scorcher module + GTHAUS GTC-EV(open mode) Average peak torque 334.54 Nm at wheels Average peak HP 224.579 whp Observations: 1) Slight loss of torque at low rpms 2) 7.5whp gain on a Mustang dyno = probably higher on a dynojet 3) Much sexier torque curve all the way to redline 4) Torque curve for AFE run 1 seems a bit out of norm 5) As the GTHAUS exhaust gets hotter, it definitely gets louder. Does it expand and allow gases to flow more freely (more hp?) <newbie> 6) I keep getting some kind of engine retardation from 3700-4700rpm but I'm not even sure how to tell my mechanics. Can any experts help? Last edited by sleet; 07-09-2013 at 01:37 AM.. |

Your first dyno, 217whp and 244ft lbs of tq, that is what one would expect on a 100% stock car. I ran on a SuperFlo, which is load bearing and similar to a Mustang, again much lower than a Dyno jet. I did 213whp and 240ftlbs of tq. Your AFE Scorcher is claiming some gains, you should be seeing 25-35whp from it. After the catback, I saw 220whp and 260ft lbs. Do you have runs without the tune active? If so, and it's not showing the gains it should, I would dump it. For some reason your numbers look like a 320i with a tune, not a 328.

Here's a retail price list for the dual w/ev
http://gthaus.com/ver3_ghprice.php?s...t#.VGpNUTT7J5c I have seen prices a couple hundred less. You have to add the AR pipe for a full catback which adds to the cost, see price list. I've been debating an this exhaust for the last few weeks and this one keeps ending up on top, we'll see! |

It's official I purchased the axle back which inlcudes the SR pipe (resonator delete) at a great price http://gthaus.com/ver3_ghprice.php?s...t#.VG0JvtL7J5c The downside is the 4~6 week lead time. So everyone knows, this is not an item that is stocked and is made to order. They manufacture it in their Korean facility and send it to their Illinois facility upon completion. From there is gets delivered to the vendor and then to your delivery address. As the name makes you believe it's a German product, it technically isn't. I don't see this as a bad thing. A lot of great products come from Korea. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Rob @ GTHaus, their sales manager today. Dealing with Adam @ GMP Performance was great too. So it turns out GMP had the wrong pricing on there website and wouldn't honor there screw up. Yeah it was a significant amount but I see this as bad business ethics, regardless of the situation. Something as minor as keeping the pricing updated makes me believe they are lacking in others areas as well. The only offer of redemption was free shipping. I had made contact with them twice without the mentioning of having the wrong price. They left me in the dark instead of being upfront with me when their "accounting department had this order under review" They used an alternate email I had provided for contact and stated they tried using the primary email with no luck. They attached this email to the alternate email but sadly missed that the copied text did not have the recipient field populated, proving they never sent that initial email. It took them 4 days to figure this out. This situation is unacceptable to me. I can't say I would recommend GMP or give them my business. . . |
