Wink BMS JB Stage1 on 328i stock (0-60mph)

Hi,

My 2012 328i is definitely stock, and I'm interested in BMS Stage 1 and 2.
But, according to other thread, the difference between Stage1 and 2 may not big. (Really?)

So,I wanna try Stage1 as first step, but I have no idea how effective it is.

Official BMS site is saying that 0-60mph was improved from 5.4s to 4.9s, but origin car seemed be light tuned.

Actually, my 328i was 5.8s without any tuning. (by 'Torque Pro' app on Android with OBD2 adapter).

So, does anyone know how much faster is Stage 1 than stock?

And then I'd like to know how different about Stage 2 from Stock.

Thanks!

I have stage one on my car...its definitely NOT 4.9.....but there is a significant power bump.

id say try to find a used one and buy it. itll cost like 200-300 and you'll be happy with it.

stage 2 is a little more power...but its still in beta stage as far as i know

You will definitely feel more power and car being more responsive.
That being said it is really hard to achieve company's time, dont forget they probably had better tires than you have, professional driver , tested it in the perfect weather condition and who know how many time it took for them to get these results.

if you plan on only adding tune, stage 1 is enough.
If you plan on going FBO and using e85, u need stage 2.
Dont forget that stage 2 also offer more features like in-dash controls.

I have Stage 1 on my 320 and it is considerably faster and punchier than stock. Took my 0-60 time from 6.8 to about 6.1 seconds. Lot more useable mid range torque etc. Stage 1 on a 328 will get you close to 335 times. Well worth it, cheap, no brainer IMO.

What exactly can you actually manually change with Stage1?

I've read only up the boost to +3/+4/+5psi?

And doesn't that lean out the engine?

Without mistaking probability for possibility, it's also a cheap, no brainer way to risk blowing your engine and drivetrain warranty, but as the old Chinese saying goes, "You gots to pay to play".

Anyone who says differently, ask them if their willing to open their own wallet to fix something on the off chance it goes boom. Then decide whether you want to trust a stranger if they agree.

Not hanging shit on the product or the outcomes, just balancing the conversation somewhat with an understanding of possible downside risk.

How do you know that?
Who broke the engine due to that much power?

It's still on news stands and might not be on the web yet. It's ERs personal car, so the downpipe, intake and IC are all their parts.

I have emailed Fred at ER to see what the exact deal is with his car to get to 312whp. I can't find the magazine in a retail store (tried a few) and I can't seem to find it online either.

Going from Stage 1-stage 2 BMS, intercooler, and possibly E85. E85 alone would net most of that 42whp.

Finally, I got Stage 1 and tried!

0-60mph of my stock 328i without Stage 1 was 5.920sec.
(Roughly 5.8 - 5.9sec was average time.)

After Stage 1 installation, it was 5.452sec!!
(I tried several times. As average, it was around 5.5sec.)

Again, I didn't do any tuning without BMS JB Stage 1.
Default boost is still +3psi. (Not changed.)
I didn't use a launch control.

I got 0-60 time with Torque Pro app / OBD2 adapter.

Here is an evidence.
[u2b]
[/u2b]

I wanna try with +4psi at some future date ;-)
