Rear camera coding (not the usual question)

Was wondering if anyone ever messed with the coding for rear camera tow hitch option. I only been coding for a year but I have done many retrofits and custom coding not discussed here before but I was wondering if anyone ever changed the parameters for the tow hitch zoom to where instead of pointing straight down it would zoom straight back towards the car behind you. If someone can point me in the rite direction or if it’s even possible I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

I've wondered the same thing. I coded the camera to stay on at all speeds to use it as a rear view mirror, but the field of view is a bit wide and the zoom a bit much. I'd like to change that to make it more useful when driving, but no one knows how to do it. There are all sorts of CAFD entries that use the same terms as those used to activate the hitch view and change the speed and so forth, but it would require translating them from German to find out what they do. AFAIK no one has done so.

Exactly. It would take some trial n error and some translating but it very well may be possible. I’ll prolly try it out over the weekend. Have u tried cvjsngkng any values to accomplish this?

I try to avoid doing anything that hasn't been done before. The exception was with the turning off the camera after a given distance. Supposedly all you could do was change the werte value to make it less than but not more than 255 meters or so. As I recall by putting in 00 it turned off the distance limit entirely.

Oh ok. Yea I’m familiar with that I jus have to install the button still but hopefully someone has messed with the trailer hitch coding before if not I’ll give it a shot this weekend n report back here my findings.

I coded the hitch view just to see what would happen. It's not really useful for me but shows that the camera view, or more accurately the screen view, can be adjusted. Whether it can be adjusted to other options beside the standard view and the hitch view only a German speaker would be able to say.

the “hitch view” but instead of showing where the hitch should be, when I select it I can get it to point straight back. So basically I’m not trying to code other “options”, jus change values so when I select hitch view it zooms straight back instead of straight down. Hope that makes sense now

I knew what you meant, it's pretty much what I want to do as well, although it might be necessary to change the focal length as well to get a useful result.

Oh ok gotcha. Thought u were thinking like I’m trying to add a whole other option on top of hitch view instead just adjusting hitch view. Lol
