Question about the 4 cylinder engines
Hi to all. I was reading on Wikipedia about the F30, still a very green section but hope it gets better with time. It says there that "Naturally aspirated straight-six engines from 325i/330i are replaced by BMW's new N20 turbocharged inline-four two liter engine already introduced in a lot of BMW models". Further on the section it says that the 320i will have the 2.0 L engine, which I assume obviously will be a 4 banger.
My questions are: Is the 320i the most basic model we could get? and the other one is: is that N20 2.000 cc. turbo engine what the 320i will get? I love all of these models, but lately I have been going for 4 cylinders. I also recognize I have been kind of prejudiced against turbos, which for me are equal to big bucks and problems. I am kind of worried that even for those of us who are happy with the smaller engines will only have turbo powered options, adding some degree of "unbasicness" to some of us fans. Thank you for your inputs. |

There won't be any naturally aspirated engines for the F30. The 320i will get the turbocharged 2.0l N20 engine.
Best regards, south

Well, I would assume BMW knows what they're doing. Plus, the 20i most certainly runs fairly low boost levels.
Best regards, south

Good point
Well thank you for replies, guess it will be either go turbo or go with the big 6 cyl engine...weŽll wait and see how it goes, guess I am prejudiced against turbo systems. Cheers!
