Whats makes us happy (or unhappy) with our decisions?
Truly eye opening talk. Might even change your life. It applies to being satisfied with your choice of BMW, as it does anything else in life.
Why are some of us happy with 10 year old beat up BMW's? Why do others complain about brand new ones? 320i? "I LOVE IT!" 335i? "What a piece of crap!" Disclaimer: actual research conducted by real life scientists (GASP) - not car journalists. |

The grass is always greener on the other side for most. And some people are just ungrateful cunts. I would be fine in an old Bimmer if I didn't have the means for a new one...I would just prefer it be a 2002 tii.

I work on large and expensive vacation homes for the very wealthy-most of a size (5,000 to 8,000 Square feet) and finish level ($800/SF to build) most of us don't even consider...but there is always a bigger, more highly finished one around the next corner (over 25,000 SF and $1,500/SF). I sometimes wonder if I were at that place would I be content or still want that one around the corner? And why not be content now, downsize to a lower cost area, drive a car until it truly is old? But I know I couldn't do it, I like the goodies, travel, etc.
Bottom line is, some of us can be content, some of us always wonder what's around the corner and have to look-once we see it, what we have will not do so we pursue that house around the corner. But once we have it, we have to peek at the next corner, and on we go. |
