I wonder about the price, probably in the F30 M3 range.

335xd vs. D3
I was about to order the new 335xd Touring, but will wait for the D3 Touring.
Just yesterday I spoke to the dealer and he presumes that the D3s will be delivered in April/May 2014. Iīm in love and definitely will wait for the D3. The only question remains - white or blue? |

actually a bit disappointed...the last D3 was sort of a bargain, a poor man's tuner car which made sense against a 320d. this is a richer man's workhorse.

Doubt that. I donīt think BMW or Alpina have a manual transmission that could survive the torque.

Alpina has quad outlets whereas the 335 only gets twin pipes on single side. Alpina has classier looks so perfect business car. A little more /$ but well worth it IMO Go with blue, or even with Alpina green II. Also very classy and rare. This is in fact the M350d BMW should have made, they're going to lose a lot of sales on this one. |

It's not always about 0-60...Torque is really what makes a car fun imo. It is what throws your body back in your seat, and trust me, 516 lb-ft of torque will definitely do that while putting a stupid grin on your face On an unrelated note, the 335i doesn't get 44mpg, which is a nice benefit to have.

But maybe BMW will offer a Performance Power Kit for 335d as well and will get similar figures. |

So yeah if your paying cash and BMW removes their discounts then the Alpina isn't that much more. But with the discounts currently it is a lot more expensive. That's all I was trying to say. |
