But, for that very reason you need to RAISE your cold tire pressures. Running pressures too low, as you are doing, is actually increasing the risk of damaging your wheels, tires, and suspension, because you don't have enough tire pressure to maintain sidewall stiffness. What you're doing is counter to what you want. Raise the pressures to the minimum required as posted on the door sill, so that the added air volume will help absorb the energy from those bad roads. |

i have 245-40-19 and 275-35-19 and had it at 35 front and 38 rear, but after tires warmed up, they typically increased to 38 and 41 and i felt the car was too stiff and would feel every bump. I have since reduced it to 32.5 and 35.5 (increases to abut 35.5 and 38.5) and have found it to be much more comfortable. but I'm not sure if its bad to be 2.5 psi under the recommended pressure
i live in texas though so temps can get pretty high |

Bicycle tires are usually inflated to higher PSI and they have even less profile. This also may tie into how higher profile on the front can absorb shocks better if you hit a pothole or curb, with a lower profile there might be more risk. The way they do it makes the front tires have 10mm more diameter than the rear which from aesthetics point of view shouldn't be proper. A more agressive stance would be achieved by the opposite. Inflating the front to a lower pressure than rears makes it better able to handle potholes, and with the higher profile the pressure can be lower without running into isues. |

I run 33 and 35 cold on my non-RFT's. They get up to about 35ish in the front and 37ish in the rear when hot.

I suffered a leak on the font passenger side, to compensate till I could fix it I increased the front pressure to 38 on both sides and rears were at 40. To my horror traction control light came on at 50mph.. and lost power beyond that, I have a 2013 xdrive btw.

I've mostly kept tire pressure to 37-38 in all tires, that gives a decent efficiency bump from normal.
Lately, I shifted to 33 in front and 37 in rear, I like this combo better for curvy roads in SF bay, without losing on ride quality (since only front seats are occupied most of the time). |

2013 F30 xDrive Tire Pressures
Thanks for everyone's input. I was originally running 32f, 38r on my 225-45-18 Bridgestone DriveGuard Run Flat tires, but felt that there was way too much understeer. I played around with different pressure settings and drove the mountain roads to Lake Arrowhead, CA several times. I found that 36f, 38r works the best for me. There's much less understeer and the car tracks much better in the corners.

Here in the USA the sticker is on the driver's/left side door jamb.

Hi,
I have a 2014 sportline 335i with 225/45 R18 91Y tires When I read my door sticker, I see that I should put 2.4 Bar all around (see attached picture) But in this tread everybody is putting more on the rears, so my question is: I'm reading the sticker correctly?? Clearly weight is the factor as the M3/M4 front 255 falls in between the M2 245/265. |
