The picture of the Huayra literally has the Ferrari dealer in the background and was taken from the McLaren parking lot. They're a part of the same dealership group.

No, I understand that but why would a dealer leave their dealer plate on a client's car? I certainly wouldn't leave my dealer plate on a client's car (unless I am transporting the car for my client). The picture of the LaFerrari in his garage has a CT Dealer Plate on it and although I am not certain but I believe he has a dealer's license since he has so many cars.

If it is the same auto group and the same dealer plates, then I can only assume that the auto group had just delivered the LaFerrari to the house but you're telling me it's not the same owner so...

Oh well

My cousin had them on a Mitsubishi he bought a few years back for over two months (also from a Greenwich dealer, coincidentally). They had probably recently delivered the LF to the house, as you said. I'm sure it's not a super fast process getting plates up from Florida to NJ. Even if he did have a dealership license, it wouldn't be in CT.

Some well to do folks try to structure vehicle registration in a way that they believe helps them not pay state sales tax on expensive cars in their collections. Don't be surprised if the plates seem to make no sense based on the location of the car. With FL and CT plates, though, it would seem that's not the case here - you often see Montana plates.

Interesting that he has an average looking garage with the 3 hypercars in it.

That's only because too many of us have it the other way around.

It matters not where his farm is. Do you work for a dealer?

Do you guys pay property tax on cars in Florida?

I'm not going to argue. I only wanted to point out that the Pagani in question was rumored to be his but in actuality is not. I have friends "in the know".

Yes, sales tax on cars regustered in-state. I believe some people also use "dealer" plates to get around titling cars and sales taxes, at least for a little while.

Sales tax I understand, but do pay an annual property tax like you would on your home?

No property tax - just an annual registration fee that is not expensive.

Bingo. That's likely why he registers his cars in FL.
