Shift Knob Replacement
Loving my new 335i
 I would love to replace the standard six speed knob with one of the weighted short throw ZHP ones. (ie this) Does anyone know if the f30 procedure is any different than every other BMW has been for 20+ years? Do I need to replace the boot to change the knob? Is it prewired for lighted knobs or not? Thanks. |

I have the exact same ZHP 6speed ready for the swap! i bought it last year in anticipation for the car this year... but now that i look at it... the F30 standard shift knob is "attached" to the leather boot, or it seems... So i am not sure how the swap could be done... it used to be easier in the past 3 series generation... but with the F30... I am still awaiting! So i am in the same boat as you!
