Both are being sold by BMW for the F30 and I have experience with both.
Can you expand on that? How do we know which version was installed? I have a 2015 435GC and would think the only one available for my VIN is the latest one. Is that not correct?

How can you tell which one is installed? I don't see specific BMW part numbers. I'm trying to confirm the dealership installed the correct MPPK on my car.

Will be a sticker on the air intake and the engine cover will say: M Performance

I know I have the MPPK, obviously. I paid for it and brought it in for installation. I'm trying to confirm if they installed the newest version of the software or a less powerful older tune.

When was you car manufactured. I don't think it's possible to install the wrong kit since it's all dependent on your cars date of manufacture. You have the tune appropriate for that date

They cannot install the older one. The DME will not accept it. The N55 was actually updated. After 12 or 13 they started putting a 1/2 inch larger down pipe on it. That's how you're getting extra HP.

Interesting, and good to know. I'm hoping you are right about not being able to install the wrong one. That is what I was originally assuming. My car was built in April of 2015.

the problem for me so far, is that on my power meter I have not seen number approaching the advertised HP. The torque has gone up to 330 which i in line with the advertised 332ft-lbs. But I have only seen peak HP of around 310... maybe 320. But definitely not 335 or even higher numbers that some people claim to have seen on theirs. Of course I only have about 25 miles on the MPPK and about 900 on the car itself, so it could still be adapting.

Do your gauges max out at 400? Mine has pulled around 340-350

Yes, they max at 400.

I had some more time today to drive the car and it probably has just been adapting, because today I saw 335hp on the meter. Now if it goes higher, as some of you are reporting, I'll be a happy camper!
