dealers response to exhausts on leased cars?
Just leased my first car and was wonder what bmws policy or passed experiences with bringing cars in for regular services with exhausts installed. I also would like one that doesnt throw a CEL. would the m performance exhaust be my only option. possibly the borla s type??

if you have a modified third party exhaust and your car has a CEL....the dealer has to PROVE that your exhaust caused the CEL for them to have a problem.
the stock exhaust needs to be on the car when you return it

Car must be stock when turned in. So they could bill you for not having the stock exhaust. Less likely if it's a BMW M Performance Exhaust, highly likely if it's another aftermarket exhaust.
Personally I don't think dealers are spending all that much time on turn in inspections. |

As mentioned above, a long as the exhaust is replaced with the stock one when you return it they should be fine.
