335i M sport offered in Beige Interior, but not in gray.

Apologies for the rant.

My lease on the current E90 is coming to an end and I am looking forward to F30 lease.

Does anyone else find it annoying how the interior colors are so limited and so goes for the trim and insert combinations.

Why would someone get an M-sport with a beige interior but not with gray or Terra (good old days?), saddle brown or even oyster/black instead.

Beige to me is the classic luxury interior color and should not be offered in Msports line at all, while there are other better colors which could fill in the void.

A question on the side, and to the point of ordering - Is the bmwusa website configurator up to date or there are other options combinations possible which are not obvious.

Thank you!

I couldn't agree more. Having more interior choices was one of the attractions to BMW for me. At this price level its very disappointing how they have limited the interior color and trim combos. I thought it might change with the intro of the coupe, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Color choice on the interior annoyed me. Also annoying is the Sport had red stitching to match the red trim finishers, Yet MSport has blue finishers and no blue stitching. I do not think I would resent my black interior at all if it had contrast stitching.

In Europe blue stitching comes only with M-sport standard alcantara seats. Leather is an option here.

I've done build your own on Canada's and UK's websites. Pretty sure M Sport w/Saddle Brown wasn't available, unless he went with Individual colors.

I had Oyster/Black in my 335is and loved the combo. it was awesome but very hard to keep clean. I'm happy with the Black in my F30 M Sport but we'll see if I feel the same way once summer rolls around here in Phoenix

and +1 on wanting contrast stitching. Would have loved to have blue stitching in the car.

I completely agree. And after seeing the Coral Red in person, its a little much (the back seat anyway). I just check Canada's site and didnt see a way to get saddle either...although you guys to get additional exterior colors (I definitely would have gone for moonstone)

BMW should flat-out burn all remaining stocks of that HIDEOUS beige color and never use it again.

It's just pitiful how the "lines" have limited our choices. I remember in 2006 when touring the plant in Dingolfing that the guide gave us some incredible number for how much time would elapse before two 100% identical cars would be built. Now they're probably minutes or seconds apart.

The really annoying thing, however, is that I don't think they have done this to increase production efficiency. There are still as many color combinations as before across the 3-series lineup, especially with the addition of the trim finishers, contrast stitching, etc., so why limit us on our choices?

But...beige interiors are great...the only other interior color I would ever use is Oyster (maybe, idk if it's pale grey or pale grey with a bit of yellow) or the Individual Platinum.

Interestingly enough, when I opted for the Coral Red interior on my Glacier Silver M-Sport 335i, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I received black stitching and black piping on the Coral Red seats.

OP, +1 on these points.

This is actually why I went ahead with MY12 Sport Line order in Everest Gray rather than wait for the M-Sport and be limited essentially to one color - black.

The beige interior color BMW uses, particularly on the plastics (I don't mind it as much on the leather and carpets) looks like the case of an old desktop 386. It's just astoundingly cheap looking.

Its a special car . Our colour choices are similar to yours for M-Sport. Just go to the Canadian subform and look at the product guide there...

But to the main topic, I'm not a fan at all of grey and would never buy a car with that colour leather. I love beige, saddle brown and black. Especially saddle brown. The point here is to each their own, so BMW chooses colours they think will hit more the norm than exception. Throw in a little lease return/resale value and exclusivity for other cars, mix it up a bit - that's probably how they derive their formula.
