Oh thanks I thought that they were painted throughout.

I might go for the grey ones then instead or try an alternate, Veemann do a similar one in the fs range the fs19 ?? Looks very similar except it lacks the step inside the wheel.

As a couple of kind members have mentioned, I have the Veemann VC7 20's on mine. Cant fault them and after a year of fitment, they are still immaculate. No chips or degradation whatsoever. Very hard wearing and high quality wheels and no issues at all with pot holes (XDrive 435d on ACS springs, Michelin PSS4S). A darn site more comfortable than with my previous 19 inch and RFT. Be aware though that if you do chose 19 inch Veemann (or Niche M157; same wheel, under license) they will not fit over the front callipers if you have M brake discs and callipers.

I guess they are a 'medium' gunmetal. Not too dark and not too light. Depends on how the light catches them but they nicely contrast from a black car. The bottom picture of the wheel probably best represents the real shade.

I really like the gunmetal but in certain light it looks too dark for me and gets lost against black but I have reservations on silver with the face being polished.

Did your friend with the silver ones on the white car have the same issues as Maxwell with worm and bubbling of the lacquer or have the held up as well as yours Darth??

Sorry for all the questions and hijacking the thread !

Something tells me that this morning the trigger has been pulled...
Now I will have something to do this afternoon, looking for MPS4S.
If they won't work, they should be up for sale by next weekend

They look decent & a set without tyres too, ideal.

Did you get a good deal?

Yup, they are very clean.
Just a mark or two that a clumsy tyre fitter left.
They were under a grand which I think is pretty decent.
Now, keeping in mind what you said about 245/35 not being suitable as I'm an xdrive, I'm looking at 235 40/ 265 35 on mps4s.
Around 800 so far, still browsing. I guess I'll end up on 1800 all in all, which is exactly what you said.

Not bad! Bonus is no refurb required, mine will be going gloss black most likely as one has a very slight smart repair on one of the diamond cut spokes and my OCD simply can’t cope!!

I paid £750 delivered for BMW * rated MPSS in 245/35 & 265/35.

As you mention for x-drive you need to be within 1% front to rear so the most logical set up is 235/40 & 265/35. You could do 225/40 & 255/35 but personally I think that’s too stretched!

You both seem to have got good deals. When I was looking, they seemed to be more expensive and needed refurbing.

Also, I'm amazed how light they are. 10kg vs 13.5kg on 442's.
It would be interesting to see the difference in handling.
Saying that, anything will be better than 442 + rft I have on now.

Yeh they are significantly lighter!

They do make a difference to the handling too, some of it maybe the MPSS though

Ok, so just to make sure - before I pull the trigger on tires.

235 40 19 wont rub on a full lock, right? I am on h&r springs as you know...
265 35 19 at the back isn't an issue either?

Thanks matey

Should be fine based on the research I’ve seen / read!

However being x-drive there isn’t much info from the US forums as there aren’t many over there!

Right, fitted and to be honest I am not sure what to think.
I am on h&r springs and I was hoping i will lose the saggy rear look if the wheel will come our of the wheel arch a little - I dont think this happenned.
Rear 265/35 is a little too close to the fender for my liking I have to say, I worry that with heavy weight at the back, i will rub. It makes want to install a different spring at the back and lift it up a little bit, 5-7mm would be ideal in my opinion.
Front 235/40 is close but no rubbing yet.
I wil
Some pics, dirty and all that but taken just after the wheels were fitted.

Looks good - but the MP4S seem to sit more “square” on the rim compared to MPSS.

My 265/35 MPSS for refrence (also NIT lowered yet)
