Accident.....

Well just got into a fender bender.... Took a turn, looked down for a second, looked back up and hit my brakes but it was to late. I did manage to only get the left side of the car damaged though. The light, bumper, and side piece(piece next to the bumper and under the hood) are all damaged. On top of that, if i go to BMW to get it repaired, will i get a loaner.

I believe the panel you're referring to is literally called the fender. Just like you said when you got into a "fender bender" lol.

As for a loaner, I highly doubt BMW will be giving you one. Most dealerships do not have an attached body shop to them, or affiliated with them. Loaners are typically for people having scheduled maintenance work done to their cars. Your insurance company will probably offer you a credit for a rental car though. My local BMW dealer does happen to have their own body shop next door, but sadly when I had my car in the body shop, they made me rent a car. I got a Hyundai Elantra. Not a bad car actually!

Although since you stated before that you're only 16, typically you must be a minimum of 21 to rent a car. Your best bet is to talk to your insurance company asap.

Lol, thanks. I really want to have a bmw dealership do the repair since I have extended warranty on the car and dont want any complications if anything happened farther down the road. thanks again for the information

Sorry to hear. By chance , does your car have Driver Assistance Plus option? The City Collision Mitgation feature is supposed to prevent this types of accidents.

No, I brought the car from the dealership, I didn't order it. That was the only option it didn't have.

16, he was texting without any doubt.

Hopefully some maturity will come out of this.

Well stuff happens. And as a young driver you will learn things happen fast. BMW builds a safe car, and it can be fixed. Glad you are OK.

What did you hit? Car, tree, pole, wall? All of the above?

Yea thanks. I hit a cls 400 coming out of a parking lot; I turned out of the parking lot and saw space between the cls and the next car so looked down quickly to fix my belt, but the Mercedes didn't move foward bc he was "looking at me". So ultimately it was my fault but if he had moved ahead maybe it could have been prevented. Still I own up to my mistake and now know not to be distracted, especially in parking lot areas.

Oh man, that sucks. Can't imagine your insurance premium after this and considering your age. Hope it all works out.

For a 16yr old, sounds like you've got you're shit together. Can't tell you how refreshing that is...you're well on you're way

Now go to Driving School...
