A 4-cylinder ActiveHybrid 3-series might be interesting but it would slot right on top of the 335 is my guess. 35 MPG with 335 performance. Woot!

Tell me what you guys think of this combo
328i base With no line Premium package Cold weather Sound Xenons Paddle shifters Should come to 42k Msrp. Here is my reasoning for not getting the sport line. If I want 18inch wheels I want to buy something aftermarket, and also I want non run flats. I think I can live without the sport seats, and also the sport suspension. There will be kidney grill inserts before we know it as well. I was debating on either ditching the premium package or the sport line, but ultimately I want power options and leather and xenons. Any thoughts or advice? I was trying to keep the car as close to 40 as possible. |

I think it depends on your priorities. What you have there sounds like a nice combination of luxury and sport. I am getting similar except i went with the sportline and passed on the premium. I really wanted the xenons but not for an extra 3k. At the end of the day, performance and handling are my top priorties so the sport seats and suspension is a must. My setup looks like this 328 sport paint leather ZSP(sound) came to 41,145. Regardless whether you have sport or not, these cars are going to be really fun.

Nice setup! I'm still considering the sports package. My thing is that my current car is an Evo, so I'm not dead set on having sport stuff if that makes sense. I've had enough sport for a few years lol. That being said, the sport line is sharp looking. Well see. |

Not including BlueTooth as standard equipment in this day of technology is ridiculous.
Charging $650 is even more ridiculous. Frankly, I don't need or want BMW's service along with BT. I just want basic BT. They could at least offer basic BT for about $300 for those of us who will never use BMW's extra service. In the past 29 months of having my 135i I haven't used BMW's service even once. The silly "comfort access" is now part of the premium pkg, but BT is not included and is not a stand alone option. BT in a car is not just good tech, it's safety tech as you can make or take a call while keeping your hands on the wheel. Plus, most states now have laws requiring no cell phone use unless you have a hands-free device. So, what does BMW do? They don't include it as a standard item, and even remove it from the premium package. This happened with the current models this year, and it continues to the brand new 3 series. It's a minor thing but it's a stupid thing for them do too. Yes, years ago audio system integrated BT was mostly available on higher end/higher cost automobiles. But now, blue tooth is standard on the low cost tiny Chevy Sonic. This technology is no longer as expensive as it used to be. BMW is just taking advantage. Base pricing seems ok until you start adding things that make a BMW a somewhat "luxury" car, then the pricing goes way up way fast. Pretty much how it's been for a long time. Enhanced Bluetooth and USB
I was just using bmwconfig.com and realized that in order to have bluetooth streaming and USB you need to order BMW assist and USB package for $650.
Just an FYI. Only enhanced bluetooth does the audio streaming. |

Here's something I just ran into on bmwconfig - when pricing out a 328i with ZSL and ZPP, it charged me an additional $1450 for leather seating even though ZPP includes Dakota Leather. I had assumed if you bought ZPP with ZSL that you got the leather as part of ZPP and that there was no additional cost. This seems to make sense given that ZML and ZLL require ordering ZPP, because for these lines, there is no leatherette option, unlike ZSL. Anyone know what the deal is here? If they're really going to charge another $1450, I'm just going to get the leatherette 335i with just ZSL. |

Any way to get Wood Trim with only ZPP?
I just want the base car with ZPP and Moonroof. I don't care for any of the "lines" because I don't want 18inch wheels! Any way to get the wood trim without the lines?

Not sure about the wood, but base with ZPP(which includes moonroof) is doable.

I think the cheapest option for you would be to retrofit a wood trim kit. In the past these have been a pretty easy install and should be < $1K. |

BTW, BMW Assist requires the Tech Package (ZTP = Nav + HUD), so getting BT Music streaming is an expensive proposition if this doesn't come with the standard BT.

I'm excited about the F30, but the more I drive my TL with its power, mid-cycle facelift, navi, bluetooth audio, blind spot detection, heated and cooled seats, HDD, it is so hard to dismiss it as suitable in place of a BMW. The way they created these packages makes it that much more difficult to suffer depreciation on my car and incur a larger payment.
The proof will be in the test drive when the I4 hits the lots. If the drive is lousy, then it makes my decision easier. I cannot say enough about my graphite luster 2012 refreshed TL Advance. We shall see this spring. |
