Basically the refs are card happy, and this game is just too intense. i need a or a

You can say that again. And FIFA is partially to blame. This new yellow card policy his terrible - it hurts the spirit of the game and promotes acting. Just my opinion, of course.

Despite the calls, this has been the best game of the cup so far. Both teams played to outright exhaustion. What a thrilling match.

Im exhausted. Im tooooooo nervous right now. Man even my mom was screaming. What a game! Too bad the ref's blew it for both teams. But i will be SO PISSED OFF if all my friends start getting cocky with me saying "we tied neener neener". Ill start my own war! haha..

I think the ref has been banned.

Zaccardo was definitely man of the game.

USA could have beat Italy this round, if it weren't for the crazy ref.

I agree. The US was unquestionably the better team tonight - the fact that they held Italy (a potent offensive team) to a draw despite being down to nine men is proof of that. I think this game, like the 2002 cup games, will bring even more American attention to the sport. I was definitely impressed with the size and energy of the US crowd tonight.

That aside, neither of these teams looks set to win the cup even if they both advance. That honor will go to Germany.

(or, most likely and from what I've seen thus far, Argentina...)

I agree. Usa played strong. Towards the very end of the game, italy finally got organized and created some chances. However, it was a little too late. I have to admit, this game wasnt what i expected. It was thrilling, nonetheless, but disappointing.

I was gonna wear my Italia jacket out tonight, BUT, i think im gonna reserve that for when we beat the Czech..........i hope........... haha.

Thumbs down

Poor performance by the Italian team. Hopefully Lippi does some changes to the tactics for the next match.

That was horrible. It is official, the rest of the world hates the US. You notice that the players that fouled (red cards) were carried off and were back within a minute. The first red card on the US I could see but the second was crap. What I think Team USA needs to practice is flopping around. It worked for the italians.

What a day in football!

Ghana with an upset victory over the Czechs.
And a US tie with Italy... The US pulled a 180 from their game with the Czechs and I was pleasantly surprised, and with only 9 on the field.

[coach hat on]Beasley should continue to ride the pine. Dempsey should start and play until he runs out of gas, and Johnson (as long as he keeps his mouth shut) should start in place of the suspended Mastroeni. Need more offense up top. [coach hat off]

Let's hope for an Italy victory over the Czech's and a US win over Ghana. Bring on the Brasilians. :rocks:

u cant say IF, because u never know how will the team respond when the other team has equal number of players..

what i want to say is this, after the first red card (italy's), italy played much better thatn when they have out-numbered usa, i dont know but i think italy started to take things v easy when they know they had 1 extra player..

but i still dont c where's lippi going?? every substitution didnt make sense 2 me, specially the last 1!!!!!
i wanted inzaghi to play yesterday, i think he would've managed to score :rocks:

but it's agreed, this was one of italy's worst games ever!!!!!

yesterday CR wasnt CR, and italy wasnt italy...

its gona b a tough match for both teams...

Italy is still ahead of their group so all they have to do is beat the Czech.

It was cold shower for them. Better to have a bad game now than during the elimination stage.

What doesn't kill you will make you stonger.

I agree. I sat in bed this morning thinkin that very same thing. USA had a horrible first match, they opened their eyes, and came back strong. Italy had a horrible match, now they know where they stand, and will come back strong against the Czech.

Im watching the brazil vs australia game. i have to admit, im impresssed with aussie's defense. They close all the gaps when possible, and havent let the brazilians do much. Of course im rooting for Australia. Im sick of seeing brazil win all the time. Time for a change. Id be satisfied with a tie from this.

I truly think this is Ronaldo's last cup unless he makes a big big play. Other than that, he just floats around the field waiting for the ball...

Ok i better go knock on wood now haha...

If i wanted to go visit cuba, i could obtain an italian passport, and go... but considering my last experience with a cuban ended in an arrest.. i think ill hold off.. ha ah
