So after one my friends enlightened me about using a foam cannon to wash my car, I wound up watching a ton of YouTube videos and finding cheap, but good products to get the proper foam cannon for me. Since I wash my car nearly every week or week and a half, the prospect of being able to wash my car much faster and with a better finish was enticing.

One of the things that I wanted was an electric power washer. I ended up going with a cheap one with low PSI and GPM. I got the green works 1500 PSI and 1.2 GPM washer. Saw some people who used it on YouTube with good results.

I ended up getting the TORQ chemical guys foam cannon with the honey dew snow foam soap. I have a gallon of mr pink and the citrus wash and gloss, but figured since I enjoy washing the car so much, might as well get more soap. And then of course some new microfiber cloths.

I had initially ordered an electric blower (also green works) but ended up cancelling it as I figured it would take much more time to dry the car. Anyone have experience drying their cars with an electric blower?

Products should be here in a couple days so I should have a fun weekend ahead of me! I'm excited to try the stuff out and I'll post some pics before, during, and after!

I use waffle weave towels to pat dry the car then an electric blower for all the crevices.

Ah ok. So not the blower for the entire car, that's good. Any specific waffle towel or will any decent one on Amazon be good?

I've used a leaf blower before. Actually worked well. Now I use the same electric blower sold by Adam's and Chemical Guys, but the generic brand version.

I use a variety of waffle weaves from Adam's, Chemical Guys, Meguiar's, Detailed Image, and The Rag Company. I don't see any significant differences. Plus using the pat dry method I don't get much marring on my black paint.

What made you go with the Torq over the MTM?

I've had good luck with the Cobra Supreme Guzzler (haven't tried the Guzzler HD). It's available on Amazon as well as Autogeek.

Ahh ok I got you. Definitely gonna get some waffle weave towels soon. Only reason was the price and seeing videos of the 1500 psi and TORQ foam cannon being a good combo to make foam. I got the TORQ foam cannon and gallon of that soap for about $65. The gallon runs about 25-30 I believe so the foam cannon itself only cost about $40 which I think is a great deal

pressure washer/foam cannon combo will work great. Good purchase. Honeydew soap works very well with cannon.

After I wash and rinse car then I give it a blow. I have a Stihl gas powered leaf blower and it works great. Got it on sale for $150 a few years ago. First I fold in mirrors...helps them drain. Give car a good blow...usually walk around car twice with blower. Then I get out my waffle weave towel and get left over water.

Awesome that's good to know. I'm kind of kicking myself for not sticking with the blower now haha

Although I've heard to avoid gas powered blowers. Forgot where I read it but I'll find the forum/article later

I always use the blower for the whole car. I don't see why you wouldn't.

I blow dry as much as I can then use these to try the rest:

I also use compressed air to blow out places like tail lights, reflectors, etc.

I had my car Opticoated as soon as I got delivery of the car two years ago and to this day I haven't had any swirl marks. It's a little expensive to do but at least four years of worry free rinsing and wiping

How much does it cost? Mine was used so never was a choice unfortunately. Previous owner wasn't a detailing nut and theres swirl marks everywhere which sucks

I paid $500 Canadian two years ago but I've heard lately people are paying close to 800-900 which I thinks is too much. Yeah unfortunately it works best when car is new and paint is fresh otherwise they'll need to do paint correction which jacks up the price higher.

I just bought a gas powered pressure washer. 3200 PSI and 2.4 GPM. I believe Chemical Guys recommends at least 1100 PSI and 1.8 GPM for their foam cannons.

I sheet water off the car with unrestricted flow of water, then air blow large portions of standing water out, then waffle weave dry with a drying aid (Spray Wax)

Did you have a discount to get it for $65, I see it listed fir $99?

I never got to ordering the foam cannon after I had my car coated with quartz finest washing was easy with 2 bucket method, but with the cannon it would be even easier. Using a blower with the coating was great I only pat dried a few drops. I recently got a new car and will have it coated with modesta.

well, its listed for $73 on amazon with the honeydew soap, but there was a $5 coupon, so it brought it to $68. I've never used the subscribe and save, but you can get it down to $57 with the coupon for it all. i just hope they wouldn't send you the cannon with every shipment

Best way to do it is use S&S, then cancel after the order ships. I got my Torq cannon with soap for $61 (tax).

If you don't cancel, then you will get the cannon with every S&S order.

I used S&S almost every month and I cancel every month lol there's no commitment as to how long you have to subscribe for.

Well just got the green works pressure washer in, along with some MF towels and a waffle weave towel, honey dew soap, and the foam cannon. Tomorrow morning should be a fun one
And I found an old battery powered leaf blower in the attic that still works, so I'll get to try that out as well haha
