First BMW F30 wash using ONR with impressive results

This is my first BMW F30 car wash using ONR. I used Sonax to clean the wheels. I have to admit it was a pain to clean the brake dust and ended up spending around 45 minutes just cleaning them.

I'm really impressed with ONR. I have used it quite a lot in the past and it is an amazing cleaning solution if you are into rinse less washing. Highly recommended!

Did you have the paint sealed or coated prior or post -- or is this virgin paint?

I also have ONR, but use it as a Clay bar lub.

I just can't convince myself of waterless wash on a BSM car.
Just by looking at it, it swirls like crazy, no need to push it.

Get the Speed Master Wheel Brush from Autogeek to make short work of those wheels.
It gets the entire depth of the wheel and can fit between all the spokes.
Especially after letting the Sonax sit on the wheel for a few minutes.

There is a lot of splatter with it and youll get dirty, but what good is washing your car if you dont get dirty in the process!?

Oh, and get some sealant on the paint too.
The Meguiars QD is nice, but its best used to freshen up an already sealed or waxed car, not for real protection.

Not yet. This is the first car wash but will get it sealed next time probably. Before sealing, I want to clay the whole car and I can only do that when I have the whole weekend to spend on the car. Its brand new but always good to start from a clean slate when it comes to sealing or detailing.

Thanks!

However, already have brake dust building up. I wonder if it will get better?

I have that brush and like you said, there's too much splatter. Next time I will probably wear safety goggles.

I used ONR multiple times on my E90 Jet Black and I was pretty happy with the results. With Jet Black, I used one towel per panel and didn't reuse the same towel for the next panel. You have to be careful but the results are pretty good with ONR even on a black car.

I use Zaino also. You going to use the microfiber towels. Zaino recommends good quality cotton towels.

so if you use ONR, you have to be totally anal about it if you don't want swirls?

Better to go with a traditional washing if you want to truly avoid swirls? although I know nothing really can help you form getting some swirls eventually.

I'm a Zaino fan and I used high quality towels for washing/drying.

You can get swirls with any washing method. I prefer ONR method because its pretty quick and easy to rinse the whole car once you get good at it (excluding wheels). It literally took me 20 minutes to wipe my F30 down. The wheels is another game, the worst part!

Can you use the ONR method on a car that has noticeable dirt on it? Or its it more for cars that are just a little dirty with dust. I'm likely going to try this method on my f30. Out here in my area in cali, the drought is putting a damper on the traditional way of washing cars which is expected.

My next product is going to be a foam gun.
I feel much better about letting soap foam sit on the car and work away as much dirt as possible before going over it with a mitt.

Id like a foam cannon, but definitely dont want to be setting up the pressure washer every time and they say the foam gun works just as well anyway.

So once it becomes car washing season again Im giving it a try!

That's what I use, along with 3 buckets (2 buckets technique on car + 1 bucket for wheels only), high quality wash pads, grit guards in all my buckets and a surface air dryer with very high quality towels.

Takes more time to prep everything than to actually wash, but the result is incredible.
