I agree that the front looks like it could be lower, I think It still looks better than before. But really if you're reason for doing this is looks and not driving characteristics then I think you're kind of missing the point.

I think improved handling is the primary reason that some of us here have or will get this done. However I would still expect the car to look pretty much level even if it isn't that much lower (don't want it too low anyway for practical reasons).

Gtsussex's car looked absolutely fine, Doppers kinda looks like the boot is loaded with paving slabs. It may just be that it was parked on a slope which would have made the effect worse.

BTW, was is nothing in the boot when I took the pics, and the drive is quite level. I will have to find different shooting location.

There was a thread a few weeks ago with pics of various sdrive and xdrive cars... and no one could really guess which was which... half the reason being that depending on a loads of factors such as angle that pic was taken from, the slope the car was on, the angle the sun/light source is at, means that you get a different perception of how big the gap is.

I measured mine before and after from ground to wheel arch and the drop is exactly 2cm all round... so in reality it's as level now as it was before, and will likely be the same on anyone else's car.

However, I think there is a visual trick being played now... Because there was a huge gap all the way round before then it looked "level", but now the back is perfect (in my eyes anyway), but the front could still go lower, it creates the impression that the front is raised, when really it isn't at all. And I am pretty sure that if you were looking in real life at any car that had these springs you would think it looks absolutely fine.

Anyway, folk have to do what will give them what they want, so if it's the perfect stance then I would look elsewhere and probably get some spacers too.

For those who want the handling improvements then they will be very happy, with the small bonus that it looks better too (well certainly in my eyes it does)

Ps. Deeno, looks like you're not far away from me, so if you want to have a look yourself then give me a shout - I'm in Welwyn by day and Berko by evening!

Here's picture of mine sitting outside office. It is slightly higher at front but as Terry says, you notice more only because the car is lower all round.

Noticed it for about a day - now not bothered. As said, M3 is almost the same! Most important part for me is how it drives.

That was true at the time they enquired but some are arriving early. I don't currently have an order from them but if you'd like to PM me your name and number I'll chase them in the morning.

YES! Thanks... (Sorry, used to be Wood but became Ridgeway some time ago).

Might try to rebook for an earlier date now...

Excellent thanks. I'd be all over them if the nose was 10/15mm lower

Thanks for your response
I definitely don't want a lowered look so I'll see what happens I guess...

I think there's a very clear difference between comfort and sport so if you want to feel the difference I can demo it some time Dopper. I'd also like to see how the ACS springs affect the ride with a view to getting it done. My wife has actually set my profile to chassis only on Sport mode now and pops it on if she's a passenger... comfort makes her travel sick. If I could change that without losing the extra bit of compliance that comfort gives, I think I (and importantly she) would be sold!

Hey Ross great idea! I think a mini meet may be in order as I think we live close by. Compare notes on suspension. Are you around this weekend?

BTW, so you do have a 335d at the moment as under your name on the left it says its "on order"?

I'll drop you a PM - I am around but likely busy with a little one has a hospital trip on Saturday which may result in surgery. I'll try to, as the car has to go in to have the Harman Kardon system replaced on tuesday and they want the car for 1-2 weeks to fully sort it out! In which case we'll have to arrange it when it's back. That said the loaner is a 335d so that might have adaptive too...

Ok sounds good! Let me know via a PM when you are next free.
1-2 weeks to sort the HK, blimey!! Could probably replace the whole engine in less time!!
Catch you soon and hope it goes ok at the hospital.

The H&R's give a more even drop on X drive cars. 26mm front and 31mm rear.

I still thing the ideal drop would be 20mm front and 25mm rear.

After:

I measured the drop on mine and it was pretty much an even 2cm all round, so if the H&R figures are to be believed then it would have led to an even bigger sense that the front was higher!

Yeah they are definitely more even, but slightly too low like you say.

The last times I have looked neither H&R or Eibach were producing springs for the 335d xdrive cars though- hence the interest in ACS, who seemed to be the only ones who were.

I would also hazard a guess that the car in the pics above also has the Eibach spacers as well.

I couldn't find good photo's of the pro kit. That'd be my choice.

Eibach make the ACS springs anyway. I'm still not sure why the ACS springs are £400 and the Pro Kit is £260.

Bilsten make the M-Sport ones.

ACS website lists the price as about £270, and then forum members got 10% discount, so not sure where you're getting your figures from.

It was re-assuring to know that the springs were made by a renowned manufacturer, but for me personally I prefer the idea of buying them from a tuner which is dedicated to the BMW brand. I have more faith that they were optimised for the handling by ACS than they would be by either Eibach or H&R.

If it's the looks you're after then I don't suppose it matters.

Because they come with a comprehensive warranty? Where is the link to the Eibach springs? Someone tried to fit them on here and they didn't fit. Lorcan also said that there's differences between Eibach springs and ACS.
