My EBII 328 M Sport after Tint & Smoked Markers
Last week I took my 2014 328 to get Photosync all around. I went with 75 on the windshield and 65 on the sides and back -- I didn't want to darken, just to reduce heat. I wasn't crazy about the look of the local shop so I went to Auto Supershield in Boca Raton -- 3.5 hours each way but well worth it. They did a great job.
Also in their shop that day was a Ferrari 458 that they were wrapping. I liked the look of it so I had them do a clear bra on the hood with matching pieces on the front fenders. And, they put a smoked film on the orange side markers. This way they still reflect at night but aren't nearly as obnoxious to look at during the day. I highly recommend Auto Supershield, it's a first-class operation. Pepi and his crew know how to take care of a car.

Thanks guys. Yeah, they put a smoked film on the markers. Sorry, I didn't ask what product they used. I think it looks great and the markers are still functional.

The painted markers look great but they no longer reflect. I don't want to give my insurance company an excuse to refuse a claim because I removed a safety feature.

What's the over/under on the time it's going to take for the tint film to start peeling on those reflectors? September?

It isn't window tint film -- it's an exterior film. It was installed by a very good shop. While I was there, they put similar film on a Ferrari 458. I don't expect problems.

When I read you had window tinting done, then reading that you also had your reflectors tinted... I made an assumption. This assumption was reinforced by never seeing, or even hearing about a tinted external film... But hey- I'm not a window and vehicle film professional! Maybe it's out there. Actually after I posted, I was wondering if the clear bra covered the reflectors/film. Maybe that is possible workaround to smoking the reflectors w/ window tint? Further, all this discussion assumes this theoretical ultra-sharp insurance inspection doesn't consider the tint itself modifying/impeding a safety feature. So I guess September was an easy "over." What if I set the under/over to 12mo from application?

No worries. Some would say I'm dedicated, others (like my wife) crazy. I usually describe it as Type A.
The bra doesn't cover the markers -- it's just partial hood and fenders. I wish I was knowledgable enough about film to tell you just what they used but I'm not. I saw them use it on the Ferrari and asked if they could put it on the ugly orange eyesores. That's all I know about it. If it doesn't hold up well, I can take it off and haven't lost anything. They didn't charge me for it. Who knows about insurance. All I can say is that the markers still reflect with the film and it was a painless mod.
