dont stretch 225's on 8.5", just keep it simple. 255/35/19 on 8.5" is fine...

Yep, I think I am sold on the 255x8.5 square setup. Thanks all for your feedback and for those that tried this and posted pictures showing the end result

Considering a few options for myself (road use) still on standard rims (8.0 front 8.5 rear)

My considerations are:
235/40/19F & 265/35/19R
255/35/19 F&R.

On Xdrive car too so needs to be kept within 1%

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?

265 is too wide for 8.5, 255 is too wide for 8

you can do 235 or 245 square but it will look weird since the front rim is narrower. 235 is undersized slightly for 8.5 and 245 is oversize slightly for 8

imo, you are limited to the oem sizes of 225/255 for 8 and 8.5

So if I stick with stock sizes then.

MPS4 or Conti Sport Contact 6?

Which would you go for? (theres £1 difference!!)

in the USA the conti6 is not as readily available as the MPS4S. based on my skill, both would be equally way above my driving capabilities. personally i would choose based on quietness, best ride, lightest weight, lowest cost, in that order.

I have a set of wheels that are 19x8.5" 29 ET square setup. Do you think I have any issues fitting 255/35/19 on a F31 with this offset? Do you think it will stick out too far or should I go 245/35/19 instead?

Nice! Had these same tires and 18" after market wheel set on previous 435, considering getting 225 F and 245/255 for Rear on the leased 340i. The OEM wheels and RFT, 442M are heavy; almost 60lbs each wheel and tire. Maybe I'll just swap out the OEM RFT for lighter set of 19" summer tires.

Are you serious? Holy shit that's heavy. The 403M don't seem too bad. I took off one of the rears the other day and they seemed alright. I want to get some super light weight wheels that still look good but without breaking the bank

yeah, someone posted in this forum that the 442M are 13ish kg., which is over 28lbs (almost 29), the Potenza 19" RFT spec. (looked up on TR) are also around 28/29 lbs. I can feel the weight compare to the previous 18" set. (wheel is around 22/23 lbs and tire around 23/24 lbs) Def. need to do something about these RFT.

Im currently running 255/40 on my stock 397s without problem. Lowered on H&R Supersports.

Rough and twisty roads here in Appalachia country. Zero rubs.
