Keep us posted on how it is.

Seems fairly highly specced.

Fat kid 1 thinking of getting them for his new car.

Run the cable under the carpets via the passenger side and not the headlining and you should be ok.

Not had an issue with dab this way other than the usual blind spots.

For me it was nothing to do with the power cable, the interference was coming from the camera itself.

What camera do you have and where exactly is it mounted?

I'll be interested to learn how the DAB is affected; I had all that issue when I put DVD changers, headrest screens and TV in my Jag. The rear parcel shelf was covered in cables and the only thing that killed the DAB was the power routing - once I fixed that I had no issues.

Looking at the F30 rear screen, there are obvious places not to mount the rear camera. For example, dead centre under the brake light is going to cause issues as there are multiple strands of the aerial there. I'll be mounting off-centre as far from the aerial lines as possible as I suspect it will be the EM interference from the camera housing (thin plastic) that will cause issue. The Thinkware cable is good quality and appears well screened.

EDIT: Have you tried multiple cameras teaston?

Taken mine off due to dab issues. I don't think it's the cable, going to mount it off the windscreen see how that goes.

Yep, my new A118C killed the DAB even in the highest signal areas as soon as it got anywhere near the rear screen. My Transcend DP200 i thought was ok at first, but it kills DAB in lower signal areas where i had no problems previously.

Maybe the DP200 will be ok somewhere else on the screen then. I'll have to go in an area that it kills it and pull over to test it in different areas of the screen, what an arse ache though!

Got black vue dual cameras on both mine and my wife's 1 mounted under the brake light on the glass. Cable is routed around the windscreen surround down to the base of screen then under trims

Front camera is miunted towards passenger side on front screen. In order to avoid lights camera etc.

Got suppressors fitted on both ends of coaxial hidden under the screen surround.

Not got or had any dab issues. Black vue did advise newer cables are also have higher shielding.

So, front camera arrived this morning (2ch kit out of stock everywhere so I bought the two separately and paid less!).

Both cams fitted, plugged in to rear power socket at the moment with cables around the screens and down the passenger side.

Driven to/from Stansted today with no DAB issues at all. Happy with that.

Crap pics of mounting position below, my only minor gripe is how obvious the front cam is from outside - I'll get some film or something to hide better.

Try using a sharpie or similar to colour in the writing and chrome parts.

Did that on my black vues.

Incidentally when I had to return a faulty camera. The guy who came round tried to use that as a reason for not changing under warranty as was a modification. Eventually accepted it wasn't likely to affect the functionality etc.

Looks good, I have wires all over the place at the moment! I've found that having a camera that is visible tends to make people who see it behave, especially as you're in a BMW, friend of mine said you look like a surveillance car! People's perception I guess, but I don't see it being visible an issue at all, quite the opposite!

Unbelievably, one week after install the camera has recorded it's first 'event' - I fitted the permanent power cable today.

Some bell end in a beat up old people carrier reversed into my car for no reason at all!!! Could have pulled away forwards (and swore he did!!). Put him straight and showed him the footage... 'oh, he says'. After the abuse he and his wife gave me I just suggested he was an arse and sent him on his way.

No damage anyway so f it, I'm having a good weekend since I received settlement for my dog attack finally...

Glad no damage was done.

There really are some bell ends around who when it comes down to it will swear black Is white. This is why we have to have dash cams I guess.

Think they were lucky they met someone as restrained as yourself is all I'm going to say.

Wifi is slick...

The cam has an SSID, just connect then start the app.

Change settings, live view, view recordings and save to your phone all right from the app. Very impressive.

Also, the computer viewer supports Mac with Google Maps overlay.
