My 328i chasing a Porsche Cayman S at NJMP

I attended SCCA Track Night in my 328i and had some fun with a Porsche Cayman S. Was my first track day in 7 years so this was fun to get back out there. GoPro cameras were mounted front and back and I used my LG G3 to film in the cabin. I wanted to give the viewer a better experience of what the this particular track session was like for me. Every now and then you may think you're hearing a chime. That's not your imagination. It's the speed warning that I have set to 80 MPH and I forgot to disable it.

I hope you all enjoy! More on RightFootDown.com

Nice job from the driver and the car .
The guy in the Cayman should have been in a slower group than you and his line/driving was a disaster.
That's where you see that the driver is by far more important than the car (not diminishing the competency of the F30 though) and that people should attend a driving school well before investing in a tune
In fact, a momentum car may be the best way to learn...

That was fun to watch..especially you pressuring the Cayman into blowing the turn. Glad no one ran into him. Those Lotus Exige (?) cars were fun to watch as well.

How bad do the tires look after? Brakes? Id love to go do that..........

It is a manual and believe it or not, I left it in 4th gear that entire session and tried to focus on the line. I probably left a couple seconds on the table.

I'm running a square set of tires off a 2015 Subaru STI so they're already grippier than anything found on a 3-Series short of an M car.

The stock brakes on the 328i began fading after just a few laps. Most of this fade was felt while braking on the front straight down in to turn one. Because of this I let off the throttle earlier and braked lighter to ensure I could continue my track day without issues.

Brakes...I was actually just up in New York filming a brake test episode with Mike Spinelli for /Drive Network at Monticello Motor Club using my 328i. If you plan on lightly tracking your 328i a few times a year I think you could get away with some high temp fluid (think Motul 600) and a pad like the Hawk HPS or higher.
