I asked Unichip for more details but they only shared a promo video and some pictures of the unit in a Merc...

Stored mine just under head unit and tucked in wires. Ran wires to connect to phone in center console to armrest storage. No rattles. Ran mic under drivers side dash pulling knee cover to the a pillar and up to mic on drivers side headliner. A bit fiddly to tuck in and thread, but worked well with some patience.

It seems unichip has another solution for NBT EVO and Idrive 4.2, they claim to have a FSC USB solution that will enable Carplay even on IDrive 4.2

Is this at all possible? As BMW never released carplay on 4.2

Apple just announced waze for carplay, so I might pull the trigger on one of these now. Does anyone know if it updates to the latest software from apple? Is anyone in uk selling them?

I would hold fire for a month or two, I was speaking with them (UniChip) today and they will have a wireless version coming out next month hopefully.

Watched the same WWDC and very good news Waze and Google Maps are finally going to be useable.

This would be an awesome upgrade and I am tempted too - would like to see if people here has any issues when Apple releases iOS 12 in a few months.

You will need their new apps supporting the feature... Waze used to allow beta testers, see if you can sign up somewhere... https://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum...39629e0c223ef6

What’s the deal with this now? Codemybimmer deleted their thread and removed from their website. Is alibaba the only way to get it now? Funny that the same vendor on alibaba replies under different names from the same account. What’s a reasonable price to try to get from them?

I'd also like to know why codemybimmer stopped stocking it though. It seems like a brilliant unit and I'm really tempted to order one. I contacted unichip on Friday to verify which one is compatible with my car but they've not responded yet.
