Oil Cooler
I am working with a sales agent at Pentagon Sales over in Germany regarding the purchase a 2013 335i x-Drive sedan and asked about which "Lines" of the 335i included an oil cooler. Her response was:
"Generally, major components such as oil coolers match certain engines rather than Lines or packages. The 335i and 335ix both come standard with an oil cooler. The M Sport line eliminates the fog lights and has larger openings in the front to aid cooling but even cars with the Luxury Line, Modern Line etc come with an oil cooler. BMW figures that M Sport Line owners might want to push their cars hard on the track from time to time and actually need maximized cooling." So, for those of you wondering if your 335i was going to have an oil cooler, it looks like they will all come with oil coolers. |

I never asked the question about the new F30 328i as I am looking to buy the 335i xDrive. Opps! Would be interesting to know though. I believe an oil cooler would increase engine life even if you are not tracking your car and since I am a buyer not a leaser that is an important consideration.

In Sport trim, the 2012 328i had an additional oil cooler up in the front passenger side air scoop in the front that the other lines did not have.

M sport line still have foggy, based on published pics.
My 335 sport line do have an extra intake on the driver side (RHD) just beside the foggies, which I assume is for the oil cooler which I don't see on the 328 (luxury) |

No, he's saying there is an additional oil cooler on the 328i Sport Line that is not on the 328i Luxury Line. Sounds like all 335i's have an oil cooler, regardless of line.

I have seen this on another forum and the guy posted pics. I think it was on bimmerfest but this was back in March I think. I guess BMW thinks and I agree with them that the chances of the sport line driver going to the track or pushing the car harder is a lot greater than with the other lines.

I looked up the 2012 F30 335i and it looks to me like all the 335i engines have an oil cooler. I found no mention of "Lines" when looking up the part.
