i think it has good potential based on pics. proportions look good. wheel sizes look very good even on small wheels.
no more oval pipe for 4 bangers. just a single round one. that looks bad i think.

I was hoping for a more aggressive look. I knew it was no chance that 3 would look better than 5 this time but hope dies last. I mean it looks good bit at same time so generic and not sporty at all.

nice
looking good so far! I personally HATE the hood lines on most of the current bimmers so I am glad I don't see those "yet" as covered by the tapes. really wish they'd go bak to flat/smooth hoods!

I think the F10 design is better resolved in the smaller dimensions of the F30. As usual it will still depend on wheels, colour and M Sport bodykit to be at its best visually. This and other US based sites are quoting Geneva 2012 launch, UK sites argue Frankfurt 2011. Who is right?

Agree. In fact, while we have not seen the whole car yet, careful examination of these pics gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect. The change does not seem dramatically different from the E90, so wonder how compelled those owners will be to trade for one?

2011 vs 2012 335i
Does anyone know or have a good sound comparison between these two models? Will the 2012 be more fuel efficient but less power? Or will the 2011 version be re mapped and upgraded?
i know the four banggers are coming out but will it also come for a 335i low end model? |

I have had many different color bmws - first was silver than LSB than space gray than jet black now alpine white E93 with red leather with 30% tint and gunmetal wheels, I love this contrast the most of all my bimmers
This was in a period of 8 years. I say go with white, look at pics of mine, search my threads. DJ

It's a looker. I'm really interested in a GT version! Btw, the first pictures show a german temporary licence plate while the last ones from bimmer today show the normal german plates.
The ones who fear a lack of sportiness in the new Dreier shoud try an Einer. |

Good luck with that. New regulation size mirrors on all new cars. Thats also why 2011 E9X has bigger uglier mirrors than the older E9x cars. Same goes for ugly side marker lights on all new vehicles. And in 2012 all cars must have day light running lights. - All about safety looks be damned. You can swap after market but manufacturer has no choice.

I like what I see in these spy shots. The front looks to be more aggressive and mean in a good way. The rear looks similar to the F10 5-series and that is also a good thing IMO, as the 5-er's rear end looks sexy. Overall the whole car looks a little bigger than the E90, which is something I like.

For Scott26: Thanks for all your info to date. Do you have any idea when we might start to see some more specifications for the F30? Such things as weight, actual dimensions, etc. Many people are anxious to find out if BMW has been able to save some weight over the E90 (given the 4 cylinder and all) or whether it has gained. Thanks.
