Roof Vinyl Wrap and wind leak sound?
Hi all, so today I finally decided to gloss black wrap the roof of my F32. The installer did a pretty good job of the wrap and he also did the interior visible area when the sunroof is opened. When i picked up the car I noticed there is a leaky wind sound coming from the sunroof at all speed. It's not a loud one, with speakers on its pretty hard to identify it. I'm just wondering, whether this is a known issue with vinyl wrap and weather lubricating the seals would fix the issue?

Sounds like installer didn't put back the weather strip and seal it good enough.... I'd just take it back and have them fix it.
I was looking to wrap the roof also, but hate the thought of f-cking with the sunroof....sounds like you already having issues with that. Let us know if it gets resolved and what was causing it. Thanks. Also...PICS!!! |

Moving on to the wrap. My car is AW and I decided to go with the gloss black vinyl wrap for my roof. Though it may look glossy in pictures, it is not as reflective as paint. The best description I can come up with for the wrap is it feels and looks like glossy electrical tape haha. It definitely adds more aggressiveness to the vehicle. I haven't had the opportunity to take any pictures as its been raining for the past few days, but i will definitely get some done when I have time |

I'd like to do a roof wrap but I'm nervous about taking a blade to the roof antenna seal. I'll work myself up to it one day or another

Brothas from another mother!
When I initially got the roof done I decided not to get the rails done because I thought I would use them, but I never do. Have an appointment this Friday to get them done as well. My guy removed the antenna and wrapped individually as also. Makes all the difference doing it separately.

you can order the reflectors online pre-painted, but i opted to get my vinyl wrap guy to colour match it for half the price.

woops just realised they are present at the rear bumper haha, I actually don't mind the rear one. However, the front ones are questionable. Last edited by jyc093; 03-22-2018 at 08:32 PM.. |
