DIY for changing 340i badge?

There are a million diy for changing the roundel but not the model lettering. I want to change it from chrome to black but I am unsure of how to do the spacing properly. Any ideas?

Measure the spacing on your stock numbers, take pictures, make a stencil?

1. Use painters tape to make a perfect outline of the badges
2. Bust out the heat gun and hit it for about a minute or two
3. Use fishing line to floss away the old badge
4. Use a glue solvent (citrus based works well) to rub away glue residue. Clean thoroughly.
5. Wipe dry
6. Apply new badges aligned with your painters tape

On item 1, apply the blue tape across top, bottom, and sides, then mark the position of each number/letter on the top and bottom tape strips. For item 2, you can also use dental floss.
