E-Sys Question Re: Trouble Codes

Hello,

Can e-sys be used to check for CEL codes, and to check for/clear hidden tune detection codes?

Thanks

No. You would have to use Tool32 to clear CEL codes.

You probably have it. It is part of EDIABAS. Look for this:

C:\EDIABAS\Bin\Tool32.exe

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. When I try to run Tool32, the results window that should show me the trouble codes just seems to indicate that Tool32 is not connecting to the ECU. My sense in looking at the messages is there is some connection problem, but when I run zcwtrace it looks like I am connected properly. I can load and read values through esys.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

I was using the f01.prg and FS_LOESCHEN_FUNKTIONAL

I get some results but am not sure how to interpret what I am seeing...Where would I find diagnostic codes? I had a CEL that cleared itself. If there were stored trouble codes, would they appear prominently in the results window?

Also is there a way to check for the hidden tune detection codes?

Thank you very much and I apologize for the newbie questions!

Sorry, but I do not know. I have never bothered trying to interpret them, I just clear them.
